Trouble Installing Mobile Intel HD Graphics 3000 driver 15.22.1.2361

I am using a HP dv7tqe running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with a Mobile Intel HD Graphics 3000 version 8.830.6.2000 according to the device manager, but 8.15.10.2342 according to the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel.

I am trying to install the 15.22.1.2361 update found here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20035&ProdId=3231&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%2C%2032-bit*&DownloadType=Drivers http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20035&ProdId=3231&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%2C%2032-bit*&DownloadType=Drivers in order to fix a problem similar to this: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-8704-page-3.html http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-8704-page-3.html

The Intel HD Graphics 3000 does not seem to properly support OpenGL (2.1?) properly with Amnesia The Dark Descent or Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath. The .2361 update apparently fixes these issues, so I'd like to have it.

However it says that the driver package is not validated for my system, though the documentation for the package says otherwise.

First I tried using the automatic driver update utility in the Device Manager, but the Device Manager Update Driver utility seems to think that my 8.830.6.2000 is the latest driver. Then I tried the following:

Through the device manager tried to manually install this zip http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3231&DwnldID=20036&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics&DownloadType=Drivers&OSFullname=Windows+7%2c+32-bit*&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=3231&DwnldID=20036&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics&DownloadType=Drivers&OSFullname=Windows+7%2c+32-bit*&lang=eng through following these instructions http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-029635.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-029635.htm but that does not work either.

HP does not seem to have the 15.22.1.2361 driver, their latest seems to be http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-93993-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-93993-1&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en

I'm not quite sure I'm even trying to install the right drivers. I just don't know what to do from here; I'd really just like to be able to play my games.

Unfortunately it says it's still not validated, the same as before.

Hi Diego,

I have the same problem installling 15.22.1.2361 and tried the drivers you linked to.

Actually the Intel driver update utility pointed me to these drivers.

After installing my goal to extend my desktop to second monitor works.

However after rebooting the drivers go back to single desktop.

The option to extend my desktop also disappears.

The drivers doesn't seem to recognize second monitor anymore.

I tried disabling this driver from Device Manager and enabling it again.

After this the option for extending my desktop is available again.

After reboot I have the same problem.

At the moment the System Information gives me:

Driver Version 8.15.10.2361.

Attached is a print screen

I just bought this computer yesterday and really need an extended desktop.

So please point me to the right direction and I'll be very grateful.

Kind regards,

Michael

No change when updating through the .exe provided, through the .zip method, or through automatic updating through the device manager.

Hi Sanerem,

Found any help from the people from Intel?

I can't seem to get any contact and I'm starting to get frustrated using my computer without Extended Desktop.

Well, currently this is the method of fixing my problem that I'm trying. I'm trying to avoid phone support as much as possible. I contacted HP tech support by email and their responses were great, but totally unrelated to my problem.

Sanerem,

Try uninstalling the driver that is provided by your computer manufacturer through the control panel (on programs and features) and follow the Have disk installation instructions provided on the following URL:

http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm

Keep in mind that we provide generic drivers for the video controllers we designed. However, your computer manufacturer can alter, add or remove features to it. Therefore they provide customized drivers in order to support such changes. We always recommend to use the customize drivers provided by the computer manufacturer, not the generic drivers we provide.
