I am running a Dell Optiplex 7060 with an Intel UHD Graphics 630. I am currently using the two display ports to run two monitors and recently bought a USB C to DVI adapter to run a third monitor for one of my team members. It says that it is plug-and-play, but i think it may not be compatible. Is there a workaround I can do to make this adapter work (like a driver I can install) or am I out of luck with this adapter.

If a DisplayPort (DP) channel is routed to this USB-C connector then you can indeed connect a third monitor via this USB-C port. The routing of a DisplayPort channel to a USB-C connector is an optional feature, however. Based upon the fact that Dell offers, as an option, support for a third DP port, I do not believe that a DP channel is routed to this USB-C connector. As a result, using this adapter is simply not going to work.
Your options are as follows:
- You can purchase the optional third DP port adapter from Dell and have it installed into your PC.
- You can use a USB graphics engine to add a third monitor. One like this would be required if you want to support DVI: https://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Graphics-Multiple-2048x1152-1920x1080/dp/B00A2E1MQA. This one is more expensive but a lot more versatile: https://www.amazon.com/HDMI-VGA-DVI-External-Rongyuxuan-Mini-Jack-HD1920x1080p/dp/B06Y681RPY.
- You can use a MST Hub to connect two monitors to one of the existing DP Ports. One like this would be required: https://www.amazon.com/gofanco-DisplayPort-MST-Hub-Displayport/dp/B0785ZQSWN. Note that sharing a DP channel like this limits the resolution and frequency that can be used by each monitor.
Hope this helps,
