Hi everyone,
I want to deactivate the "Lighting Aware Contrast Enhancement" (LACE) feature on my machines. I have two Laptops running Intel integrated graphics. The feature is active on both, if I try to deactivate that feature I can find the toggle to do so only on Laptop 1. What do I need to do to deactivate LACE on Laptop 2?
Laptop 1: Windows 11 (22621.2506), i7-1165G7, no additional GPU
Laptop 2: Windows 10 (19044.3570), i7-11850H, Nvidia RTX A2000
Both Laptops are running the latest version of the Intel Graphics drivers (31.0.101.4953). I attached the dxdiag result of both machines.
Additionally I took a screenshot of the toggle I am refering to:
Now I could simply deactivate the Intel integrated graphics unit on Laptop 2 (which leads to the desired effect), but then I am not able to drive external displays through the Laptops Thunderbolt 4 ports (linked to the iGPU).
A note a want to add: Initially I was missing this toggle on both machines but was able to resolve it on Laptop 1 by doing a clean-install of the latest drivers.
Thanks a lot in advance for the support!

Hello yetanotherflo,
Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities. I understand you would like to disable Adaptive Contrast Enhancement (LACE) on both laptops, but this option does not seem to be available on your second laptop.
In this case, this feature is controlled by the manufacturer of the laptop and they can choose if this option is available for a user or not. I recommend you to get in contact with the manufacturer of your 2nd laptop to confirm if this option can be disabled.
Bear in mind that Intel® Graphics Command Center will hide the LACE controls if there is no ALS present on the system. You can check further information at the following link:
Localized Adaptive Contrast Enhancement (LACE) Graphics Driver: https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/graphics/LACE_Graphics_Feature.pdf
Please keep in mind that this thread will no longer be monitored by Intel.
