Is it possible to use the onboard HDMI for my audio output while having a separate graphics card for video?

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series (sapphire hd 7770)
Thank you.

JR,
I have moved your question to the Graphics forum; there is a better chance of someone (with the right expertise) being able to answer it there...

Hello pocketbell,
This configuration can be possible if your motherboard allows it, your BIOS needs to allow a interaction between the CPU integrated graphics and the GPU. Let's say that is like a profile that will allow to select where you want the video and the audio to output, if this can be done through a BIOS level in your operating system you will need to set your playback devices for the audio; however, you will need to confirm with your computer manufacturer about this switchable graphics feature.

Amy.

Sure, you're welcome.
I am aware that some motherboards have this feature but I am not sure about your motherboard model, so the best thing to do is to contact Gigabyte. You can try the forum support http://forum.gigabyte.us/ Home | GIGABYTE USA Forum.
There is a similar conversation going on here , take a look.
Regards,
Amy.
