Dear Intel Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to report an issue that many players, including myself, have encountered while playing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on systems with Intel Iris Xe Graphics. The game appears very dark, making it difficult to see and enjoy the gameplay.
Here are some details about my setup:
Graphics Card: Intel Iris Xe Graphics
Driver Version: 32.0.101.6557
Operating System: Windows 11 24H2
Game Version: v1.205.0
I have tried updating my graphics drivers to the latest version, but the issue persists. This problem has been reported by numerous players on various forums and platforms, indicating that it is a widespread issue affecting many users.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could investigate this problem and provide a solution or driver update to fix the dark graphics issue. Your prompt attention to this matter would be highly appreciated by the gaming community.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Best regards

Hello platinumgamer,
Upon reviewing the system requirements for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, I found that the minimum GPU specification is a GTX 1650. Unfortunately, the Intel Iris Xe graphics is not comparable to the GTX 1650 in terms of performance. Additionally, both the minimum and recommended GPU specifications for the game are discrete GPUs, which may lead to compatibility issues with the integrated graphics you are using.
However, I have a few additional questions to better understand your situation:
- Is this blackening issue occurring for the first time, or has it happened before?
- Are you using a laptop or a desktop?
- If you are using a laptop, could you please provide the exact model of your laptop?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Hello platinumgamer,
Thank you for getting back to me. I understand this is the first time you've encountered this issue. Could you confirm if this is also the first time you've played this game on your current laptop? If so, the problem might be related to a compatibility issue between the game's graphics requirements and your system.
For a more detailed explanation, I recommend reaching out to the game's developer for clarification on compatibility.
To give you a brief overview, integrated GPUs like the Iris Xe which have shared memory with the system's RAM. In contrast, discrete GPUs come with larger, dedicated VRAM, making them better suited for handling demanding games. Playing a game like Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which requires a discrete GPU, may lead to issues if your system's GPU is incompatible. Again, contacting the game developer would provide you with more specific guidance on this matter.

Hello Dhanniel
Thank you for your detailed explanation. I understand the importance of having the right hardware for optimal gaming performance. I wanted to clarify that while I am aware that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has high graphics requirements, I have successfully run other demanding games on my laptop, such as God of War Ragnarok, with stable frame rates (achieving around 30 FPS).
Given this, I would like to know if there might be specific compatibility issues between Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Intel's Iris Xe graphics that I should be aware of, as other high-demanding titles run without any major issues on my system.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Hello platinumgamer,
Thank you for your patience. Upon further investigation, it appears that the game developer has restricted the game from running on lower-performing GPUs. According to the game's system requirements, a minimum of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT with 4GB of VRAM is necessary. It's important to note that the amount of VRAM is not the only factor that may limit the game's performance on Intel Iris Xe graphics.
For more detailed information, please visit the PlayStation support page.

Are you joking or something? Ofcourse the minimum requirement will be shown GTX1650. That's not an excuse. The game is not running because of the driver or game patch or bios or something else.

Hi platinumgamer,
As I have not received a response from you, I will proceed to close this inquiry. Before doing so, I want to emphasize that the minimum requirement for graphics for this game includes a discrete GPU. For further clarification and assistance, please contact the game developers directly.
If you require additional support, feel free to submit a new question, as this thread will no longer be monitored. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
