Hi jakeandtheman,

There is a Beta driver available;

you can find it at the following site: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=3rd+Generation+Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+Processors+with+Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+4000 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/search?keyword=3rd+Generation+Intel%C2%AE+Core%E2%84%A2+Processors+with+Intel%C2%AE+HD+Graphics+4000

Please note:

Microsoft Windows 10 drivers for 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 4000 and 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 2500 (formerly codenamed Ivy Bridge) will include support for http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/dn265512(v=vs.85).aspx Windows Display Driver Model (WDDM) 1.3. For reference, WDDM 1.2 features are available on Microsoft's Web site. This Windows 10 driver will not be http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/what-is-a-signed-driver digitally signed which means that it will not have been tested by Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). Note that Windows will alert you with a message if a driver is not digitally signed but you can continue the installation.

The page for the beta driver tells us it's available via windows update only. Nothing received yet. Do you have more info on this ?

You could manually download the latest 4252 thru windows update website (or http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2015/07/200005865_91c6c22475707dcd928dc3eff0647e549b1c60ce.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2015/07/200005865_91c6c22475707dcd928dc3eff0647e549b1c60ce.cab 32bit, http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2015/07/200005864_5b0afd7de3ba4dc3000c58621158c96abbfbfa82.cab http://download.windowsupdate.com/d/msdownload/update/driver/drvs/2015/07/200005864_5b0afd7de3ba4dc3000c58621158c96abbfbfa82.cab 64bit), extract, copy and replace everything to Graphics folder on some random intel graphics driver installer (preferably latest to avoid conflict) and run Setup.exe. (might require disabling driver signature verification on win8.1) the Windows 10 Drivers also works on Windows 7/8.1 too. sadly I've seen no differences in terms of performance and OpenGL shader compiler, some shaders in minecraft still failes to compile. also still no igd12umd for gen7 graphics :(. althou I've still yet to try other games I've reported before, which is BF4, MGSV and Witcher 3.

Thank you hansb_intel and lybxlpsv for answering, but these are the drivers already installed by Windows 10, so it unfortunately does not help.

I also am with a laptop which uses HD4000, updated to Windows 10, and I get video lags/frame skipping, while playing any video from any player, including streaming and local videos, there hasn't been a single update for HD4000 since Windows 10 release outside of a poorly working driver through Windows update. For a chipset that Intel is supposedly being supported for Window 10, not having a single update while all other chipsets are having multiple updates is simply unacceptable. Windows insider preview was done to avoid that kind of issue, and we're being told that Windows 10 is rather a new system, what a joke after 1 year of beta testing in every possible way. While I agree this issue could be on either side, Microsoft or Intel, remains that more that 15 days after release, and while insider preview was available around 1 year ago, Ivy bridge chipset receives only one beta driver that isn't even working properly while other slightly more recent chipsets have received multiple updates. Intel really can't expect that users won't complain when they officially support one platform and actually do nothing towards it, my laptop is my only way to watch any video, and because of this semi broken driver, I can't actually uses my laptop properly. Sorry for the harsh tone of my message, but it really feels wrong being treated like this without any update/acknowledgement of this issue, and i see the numbers of threads growing about this issues in both Microsoft and Intel's forum. Microsoft actually acknowledge the issue, but no feedback from Intel, while it's Intel that created those chipset and should be providing working software solutions, consumers are left without the start of an explanation/workaround/solution, and this is what's wrong.

Hello kldoc,

I have tested these graphics on a Lenovo laptop using HD graphics 4000 and I tested with streaming and local videos at the same time, but I did not find any issue at all. Please add your laptop brand and model in order for me to check if there are any issues reported for that system.

Hi kldoc

I hear you and understand your frustrations, I use an IVB [HD4000] for my work laptop. There's a couple things to address here so let me see if I can summarize, first you're looking for newer IVB Win10 drivers and secondly you see some issue(s) with your current driver. Did I capture that correctly?

1. IVB is supported by Intel with WDDM1.3 Gfx drivers only [15.33 driver branch]. WDDM1.3 means they are Win7 & 8.1 drivers which are to be used for Win10 in compatibility mode. Here's a chart and info that describes this: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034343.htm Graphics Drivers — Supported Operating Systems. 4252 is the latest IVB driver released for the Win10 launch. Once this and our other products' Win10 launch drivers were released they moved back to targeted quarterly cadence releases. Newer products may get critical fix releases alongside the quarterly cadence, but as a product matures, need for critical spot releases decrease and eventually only cadence releases are provided.

2. Gfx concerns can be raised by submitting a report of the issue using the sticky information - /thread/77761 here. Please search for an open thread that describes your concern and reply to the thread by pasting the information from the sticky to report your sighting of it. If you can't find such a thread start a new discussion with this same info. If you have a post already, please reply with the link and I'll bump it. Thanks for your feedback!

Thank you Bryce@Intel for your answer, it feels good to actually have someone interested into the problem.

I created a thread with all the logs that were asked in the issue form.

I really hope a solution can be found, it's actually giving me headaches to watch videos in those conditions, and I don't have much choice either, I live in China although I'm not chinese, which means my laptop is truly my only entertainment source.

Let me know if any other log/system info or whatever are needed to help solve this issue. The issue is less important than other users reporting green pixelated images or computer freeze, but this system is so close to have perfect Windows 10 support that it's really frustrating a simple task as watching videos fails this way.

On a sidenote, I also noticed flash player was having lag issues. I don't play much 3d games, and they use the discrete geforce gt650m to play, but since the rendered image goes through the HD4000 to be displayed, I expect the same kind of behavior. If you need me to perform such a test, let me know.
