New HP Envy Arc Graphics laptop. every time Intel updates my driver, in a week or so Windows 11 auto rolls it back to older/original version.
There is NO Hide updates anymore and Windows will auto install it so you cant hide it anyway. and pausing updates doesn't work because sooner or later you need to update Windows and then Intel gets updates back to the old version.
someone told me to do this BUT it doesn't work
Intel just updated driver again so how do I stop Windows from messing it up again

1.Please Download and use Microsoft ShowHide Tool to hide the redundant Graphics Driver update.
2. You can also stop Windows from updating/downgrading drivers trough Registry or trough Group Policy Editor (if you have Pro version of Windows): How to stop Windows 11 from downloading Drivers

For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:

Not sure what happned BUt I made this reply several days ago and its still not there. I will try again to answer your questions:
- What is the complete model of your Graphics controller?
- What is the complete model of your laptop? HP Envy 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-da0000 ID
- Was it working fine before? There is nothing wrong with either. New laptop - Sept 24. All I want is for Intel updates Via INTEL to stay. Windows keeps rolling me back. Have tried many things that worked before Like "Hide" etc and above listed - but it doesn't work.
Hope you get this reply. UGH

As of now I have been able to get Hide to work, but its really only temporary. I still haven;t turned on updates. too scraed to.
If Intel has a better way of fixing this - it would be great. and please dont let them say check with HP. Useless.

Hello APols1,
Thank you for the update.
I am really sorry to hear that. To be honest, the link that I provided is a proven fix for this issue and a lot of customers followed that link.
Since you are still having issues, let me gather more details to further investigate this.
- Did you already updated the BIOS of your system?
- Are you using Intel Graphics Software?
- Please help generate the SSU logs of your system. Kindly refer to the link below on how to generate the logs:

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hi.
- Did you already updated the BIOS of your system? - ALL updated.
- Are you using Intel Graphics Software? Intel Arc Graphics. Just updated actually again yesterday
- Please help generate the SSU logs of your system. Kindly refer to the link below on how to generate the logs: I'll do that if you think its needed, but Intel updates are not the issue.
Did you ever get a chance to go to that Windows Community Board and check it out. That explains it all.
Again the issue is not getting Intel updates, just stopping Windows from overriding them. I finally was able to stop Windows -TEMPORALLITLY - from forcing the reversal back and used HIde. BUT Hide is going bye bye soon.
In the past this has worked BUT I'm not sure what will happen with Windows 11 especially when I trun back on downloads.
Sure would be better if Intel could help me figure this out. right now HP is USELESS and Windows really does not seem to have an answer
please visit that above link and let me know what you find out if you can, I would love to turn back ON receive updates but right now I'm too scared too. LOL

Hello APols1,
First of all, thank you for acknowledging that the issue is not on Intel updates, this should help us focus on the main cause of the issue. I will try to have this checked and if needed I will also forward this inquiry to our Engineering team.
However, part of the investigation is I need to get the SSU logs of your system for us to have the full picture of your hardware and all the drivers in it. So please help generate the SSU logs.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Michael hi,
hope you had time to look over that last post and the SSU logs.
BUT here's a thought. as I said in prior post - Windows downloaded but did not install Update .6556.
Back in Feb Intel installed version .6559
Then in March it updated to .6651 - my current driver.
MAYBE I should let Windows go ahead with the .6556 and that MIGHT get Windows and Intel back in sync. I can then wait for windows to update or do an update from Intel.
WHAT DO YOU THINK??? PLEASE get back to me as soon as you can.
thanks

Hi Michael
was going to try to get that other info you wanted, but just this morning Windows forced installed this Update.
Have NO idea what is does, but it did NOT seem to change my previously Intel Updated Driver
That's the issue here. When Windows 11 wants to Update something - you have NO choice. UGH
BTW why doesn't Intel Graphics Software button for WHQL stay "ON"??? no idea what that does either

Michael morning - OK NOW I'm really confused.
Yesterday I posted that Windows did an auto download and install3e for Intel 6556 "EXTENSION". NO idea what it does. I did note above that it did NOT change my display driver which is still at .6651
Well this morning I just checked Updates and I found that Windows must of at the same time - I did not check yesterday - downlaoded ONLY the Display Driver for .6556
I have done NOTHING with this yet. I was going to "Hide" it but I thought I might check with you first. At least Windows seems to be catching up with Intel because they at least did not try to download and install the OLD driver .5542 that is still "Hidden" ( see prior posts)
what do you think I should do.
BTW here is that SSU Log you wanted. Maybe I've posted too much????? I think I may delete that very soon.

Hello APols1,
Thank you for posting multiple updates.
I am trying to read and analyze all of the details that you provided and my suggestion is using the link that I provided before as reference.
Try to update everything and check if the Graphics will rollback again. If not, then that means you were able to fix the issue since the driver is not rolling back anymore.
If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.
Best regards,
Michael L.

Well I hope this board is not disabled but we will see.
As I explained earlier Windows finally did cathc up with Intel (this really is the issue) and install version 6556 on 2 different day
I gambled and updated to INTEL's 6559 and everything has been running smoothly. I did NOT updat to Intel's newer 6651 which I had done before and posted above.
Well this morning Intel wanted to Intsall 6734. I downloaded it but have not done anything. If I try to install it - Windows may want to roll be back to - I HAVE NO IDEA. Maybe the last thing they did 6556??? Hopefully NOT all the way back to 5542. And that is NO longer "Hidden" UGH. When I updated to 6556 Windows DELETED the "Hidden" 5542 driver.
ANY SUGGESTIONS??????????????
