I have big problem at switching channels on HD or during viewing HD channels. Windows Media Center periodically crach with error in igdumd32.dll.
Windows gives me the following crash information:

Its great that there is now a "workaround" for 32 Bit Users that can change to the 64 Bit Platform.
Unfortunately some special Media Center Versions for OEM´s on the Windows Embedded Platform
are only available in 32 Bit Versions.
So for OEM´s that want to use the Intel Platform with Intel HD for their STB´s development there is no option at the moment.
Only Option is NOT to use the Intel HD platform.
Hope Intel don't forget about this !!!

Facing the same issue with my new HTPC (Media Center crashes occasionally when switching Live TV channels)
Board: Intel DH67GD
CPU: Core i3-2105 (HD 3000 graphics)
RAM: Kingston HyperX blu. DIMM Kit 4GB
TV Tuner: Digital Devices DuoFlex CT
All latest Intel drivers are installed... my OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit.
I don't think it has something to do with the RAM, TV cards or Windows. Seems to be an Intel driver issue (32bit?)... I'll try out the 64bit workaround if nothing else helps.

I will not be able to run the 64 bit version unfortunately.
Most of my plugins have 64 bir support, apart from my front panel display device (VFD), and I don't want to give up on it.
Maybe I will still put the 64 bit version to the test (without the VFD working) to help you guys prove the point, but still I would hope Intel signs in to this thread
at some point and realizes they have some work to do to the driver to help us 32bit folks.

Problem is certainly not gone, I've been updating the BIOS and other drivers in the meantime.
Still no go for me to run on 64bit.

Do to the fairly complex system configurations seen on this issue, it is difficult for me to reproduce the failure in my lab. There is a newer driver that may possibly impact what is seen with the older driver. If anyone can test the current driver and report back you can download it here:

Thank you so much for signing in on this thread and trying to help us.
I realize that reproducing this on demand is hard.
In fact today I wanted to see the different behavior of the crash by turning off Windows Error Reporting (WER)
in an attempt to make the crash a bit easier for the family, so they don't need a keyboard to continue, but I had a hard time reproducing it myself.
The driver you have mentioned has been out there for some time and I have already tested with that.
Initially with worse results (/message/144660# 144660 http://communities.intel.com/message/144660# 144660) , but later this turned out to give the same results.
The 2559 driver has a strange history, as it has an original date in October, whereas your link has a date of december.
So if you are saying that this IS in fact a newer/changed driver, it is worth a try.
Also, to help you narrow down, I believe (but cannot confirm) that the crash is related to the WTV video format.
I have never seen the crash with any other video format, even BluRay.
So if that will help, I'm happy to save a recording (WTV) which has a tendency to crash when playing it (especially when skipping through it).
I would still say that I have a pretty standard config, with very little extra's from a hardware point of view and the tuners don't seen to make a difference.
I will be traveling for the next week, so cannot do any testing until next week thursday.

It was later posted in the Mainboard section, the driver itself is dead old dated 21.10.2011. In the graphics section the driver was removed for some reason. Intel don't like posting new drivers for older hardware. You have to use leaked drivers currently.

This is newer. You need HD2000 or higher. I doubt it will help but who knows.

In the meantime I have found the v2622 new driver from the Intel site.
This driver didn't bring any difference in experiencing this problem.
Also I have put asside a recording from a HD channel, where this problem regularaly occurs (in Live TV as well as in the recording).
And I'm in the process of sharing this with Intel Support, hoping that this will allow them to reproduce the problem.

Still no progress with Intel. I have a test recording pending upload, but I the FTP site Intel has given me, does not provide me access.
ftp://ftp.intel.com/pub/Incoming/ ftp://ftp.intel.com/pub/Incoming/ does not work, while the level above that ftp://ftp.intel.com/pub/ ftp://ftp.intel.com/pub/ does seem to work.
I'm guessing I need to have some kind of access, but Intel has remained silent for the last 3 weeks.
I also wonder why this thread is marked as "Assumed Answered". While this seems true for the 64bit users, the 32bit environment is still the same.

any news about the ftp proccess ?
i recently saw that under windows update there is a newer driver than from the intel web side.
Its Version 8.15.10.2653
if you want to manually download this driver goto http://test.catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx http://test.catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Home.aspx
and search for Intel HD 2653 and pick the right one (x86/x64/AMD etc..)
Maybe this one helps, I have installed the driver some minutes ago, so i can't say anything, it could take some
days as the error is very sporadic.

I've only heard once from Intel and have since pinged them a few times trying to get the FTP location to open up so that I can submit my test recording.
My hopes for Intel easily reproducing it is low, under normal usage it is sporadic, with a test recording I can ususally force it, but sometimes it just doesn't crash and I doubt if Intel will be that patient
Thanks for the tip on the new driver, assuming this driver will land in the Intel download center too.
Will also test it and report back.

Sorry Dan, for the delay, I've been travelling. Yes we can share a recording, that would be a good test.
The repro steps are mainly patience.. 🙂 and it probably means that you will get pretty tired of watching and browsing throught the same recording over and over again. Yet, it would be interesting to see that in case we share a recording if we can force the problem on both ends.

I've had exact the same error...
Crashes occoured when switching channels, starting recorded programs, rewinding/fastforwarding in recorded programs.
Allmost every time using mce....
4 days ago I installed the new Intel HD Graphics driver version 8.15.10.2653.
Since I have not seen any igdumd32.dll error at all.
I've switched channels repeatedly... fastforwarded on and on.... no error.
Everything points to my problem is solved.
Hope many of you will experience similar 🙂

If you read a little bit back you can see that some of us have also tested with the 2653 driver, in fact it has become our routine to always try the new driver.
Sometimes the problem is just gone for a week or so, which makes it hard to reproduce and appoint to a certain configuration.
While the 2653 is not the latest driver on the intel site (2622 is), I believe it was offered through Windows Update in my case.
