Please advise if the onboard AMD radeon graphics card supports HDR10

Also a bios firmware update location would be helpful.

I've contacted asus and they have confirmed this model was not taken by them with another few 8ix series nuc. Which means (hopefully) intel still have firmware updates for these models.

Thanks

You will not get anything from Intel as they have deleted all documentation and support files.

However, I have attached the latest/last bios from my archive.

Now, in your other threadd, do you actually have a NUC7PJY, or just fishinG for hdr10 INFO?

Hi AlHill,

Thanks for replying.

Thanks for the latest BIOS, you are the man(blindly trusting it :)). Appreciate it. I've been back and forth with intel and asus and wow. Not cool. I'm hoping this will fix the green output is displays when playing HDR10 content. But research says the amd radeon 540 may not support HDR properly...

Re: NUC7pjy, I sure do have one. The reason I'm asking is it's currently running the latest version of libreeelc(kodi port) and surprisingly it plays HDR10 content almost fine. It's quite old but on the latest bios, as long as I don't reboot the thing it's stable. I've read that the UHD 605 (integrated graphics) and hdmi 2.0a port may not support tone mapping and other features that the Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics do.

I also have 2 nuc11i5pak with Iris Xe graphics which run fine.

The NUC7pjy was pulled out of the cupboard as I wanted to setup media playback access in another location. If it works then great or I can pick up another nuc11+ with iris xe graphics here for about $200+. It'll be a long term solution that i'd prefer not to worry about and get the best results possible. The nuc is currently connecting to a sony x90j which has full hdr10 support I believe.

Thanks again.

Hope the bios helps.  I have 14 NUCs on hand, and saved all the bios files before intel's purge of this data.

Commenting here for future people if they come across this.

Unfortunately the bios update didn't help. I think it's a limitation of the "discrete" amd radeon 540x graphics. POS.

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/mini-pcs/NUC8ixINH_TPS.pdf (they kept some docs online)

Says it should work but Green screen with HDR using HDMI and DP.

It makes the NUC8ixINH pretty useless for a media centre PC. At least running Kodi/LE anyways.

Thanks again AlHill. Really.
Back and forths between intel and asus sucks.
It's nice of you to archive what intel should've done for their existing and now previous customers...

But I suppose they really do need that extra <1TB of storage for firmware and doc files... Times are tough.

The amd debacle with the hades and islay nucs was bad.  I avoid intel graphics when possible and go with nvidia if a all possible.  I havee 4 nucs with nvidia, and one with intel ARC.  We will not discuss ARC because some Intel employees get very upset about anything negative (which it all is) on the ARC.  I wonder if larrabee would have been better.
