I have a laptop based on the intel i7-11800h chip. I am fine with intel keeping me up to date with the most current drivers and it seems to work quite well for everything else other than the display driver. it seems disturbing that my laptop seems to want to upgrade my display driver every 3-4 days. i couldn't fathom why intel was releasing a new driver every few days but went along with it just the same.
Now I have figured out what is going wrong. Intel has released a new driver.. current is 31.0.101.3222, then every week, Microsoft forces through windows update to re-install version 31.101.1069. I have not figured a way to force the 1069 version not to download and it seems that intel and microsoft are not on the same page as to what the most current version is or why i should be using the latest or oldest version, all i know is that the two are making my life a misery as they just don't agree.

Use the Microsoft wushowhide tool to hide the offending driver.

"The only way to stop windows update ..."
No, that is incorrect. You can use the Microsoft wushowhide tool as I posted.
I recommend against using 3rd party tools if at all possible.
