i5-11600K (UHD750) Driver 27.20.100.9466: some Games don´t work

Hi,

i bought new i5-11600K and tried several Games with internal UHD750 and newest driver 27.20.100.9466.

Most are running fine except for two:

- Quake 4 (does not even start without any message)

- Command & Conquer Remastered (crashes after few seconds with display driver error message)

Would be great if you could fix this with next Display Driver Update! 🙂

Hello @Jo19

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to check this further, could you please provide us with the following information?

1- We understand this is a new system. Just to make sure, did the system work fine before, or are you experiencing this issue since the first day that you have the computer?

2- If this worked fine before at any moment, were there any recent hardware or software changes that might relate to the point when the issue started? (for instance, Windows®, driver, or game updates?) Do you recall any specific driver version that is known to work fine?

3- What is the "display driver error message" you receive with Command & Conquer Remastered? Could you please provide a screenshot?

4- Does the behavior happen if you use different resolutions and settings? Could you please provide screenshots and more details regarding the game settings that you are using?

5- Please provide a Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers following the steps on the link.

6- Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

  • Download the Intel® SSU and save the application on your computer
  • Open the application, check the "Everything" checkbox, and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. The Intel® SSU defaults to the "Summary View" on the output screen following the scan. Click the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click Next and click Save.
  • Once you have saved the file (.txt file), please attach it to your reply.
  • To upload and attach a file, use the "Drag and drop here or browse files to attach" option below the response textbox.

Best regards,

I found out, that Quake 4 runs fine with old driver version 27.20.100.9127!

It seems that OpenGL ist not available with the newest driver...

But error in C&C is for both driver versions.

Message is:

Video Card Driver Crash Detected!

ERROR DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

But when you search for this error, you will find lot of other people with other systems and the same error message...

Hello Jo19

Thank you very much for your response and for the details provided. However, it seems we are missing some information requested in our previous post. Could you please provide this information so we can check this better?

1- Does the behavior happen if you use different resolutions and settings? Please provide screenshots and more details regarding the game settings that you are using?

2- Please provide a Report for Intel® Graphics Drivers following the steps on the link.

3- Run the Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU) to gather more details about the system.

Note:

Regarding "It seems that OpenGL is not available with the newest driver", just for clarification purposes, Intel Graphics drivers merely enable the use of OpenGL*. This means that OpenGL* drivers must be installed separately, and are often included with the game or application that requires it.

Even though Intel® Graphics controllers support a wide range of popular Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) such as OpenGL*, the recommendation is to make sure that the Intel® Graphics controller is compatible with the version required to run games and applications. In this scenario, games and applications should provide specific OpenGL* version compatibility.

This might include installing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM, e.g.: Dell*, ASUS*, Acer*, etc.) drivers since they are customized to ensure system functionality. You may contact the system manufacturer for assistance.

Also, remember that the operating system (OS) should be up to date.

For more information, here are the Supported APIs for Intel® Graphics Controllers.
