I have a Lenovo y50-60, which has a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M,

with a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700HQ CPU

connected to a 1920x1080 monitor at 120hz by a 1.4 HDMI cable, although for some reason I cant get 165hz nor 144hz, I've tried YouTube tutorials as well as downloading the latest drivers and lowering the resolution but nothing worked, what should I do?

Your processor only supports HDMI 1.4. The maximum throughput of HDMI 1.4 is 8.16GHz. Achieving this requires a very clean end-to-end connection with a good quality cable. Having a good quality cable does not guarantee that you can sustain this maximum throughput; remember that (noise-based) loss via connectors, motherboard traces, etc. also play a role. Supporting 144Hz requires that a 8.0GHz data rate can be maintained (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI for more information).

All this said, my opinion is that 120Hz is all that you are going to be able to reliably sustain.
