After installing the latest drivers from Intel HD Graphics 4000 is no longer output the picture on TV connected via HDMI. When removing intel driver and install a standard driver windows 7 TV through HDMI works in clone mode desktop. If start the installation of the latest drivers from Intel after installation and before rebooting the PC it works perfectly - there is an image on the TV, it can be configured as a clone mode and the extended desktop mode, but after rebooting the image on the TV disappears. How to make the TV displays the image after restart the PC with the latest drivers Intel HD Graphics 4000?

CPU - core i5 3570K

MotherBoard - Gigabyte Z77-DS3H

Win 7 64bit

No discrete graphics card

TV - Philips 32PFL8404H

It seems that everything is working here, except reading the EDID. I tried reading it in linux with i2cdump but it doesn't work. For VGA it works fine. I checked the cable, i have +5V from the pullups on the two i2c lines. So is this a hardware error or could it still be something software/firmware related?

hello

I have a problem with my Intel ® HD Graphics 4000. When trying to connect through the HDMI port, it doesn't works, but when it's connected by D-sub port, it Works correctly.

What is the correct way to connect the graphics card and display only the HDMI output port?

Thanks a lot

@EsMol: Have you checked your HDMI cable to make sure that it works with a different display and/or a different system? We have seen a lot of issues recently occurring with the HDMI cable not making a solid connection to the system, resulting in no-display.

@damur: Black screens can be caused for multiple various reasons. We are still investigating on our end trying to figure that out, but it could be anything from the display, the cable and possibly our driver. A lot of users have found issue with cables (even if they work with other displays/systems, some users have replaced the cable regardless and found that certain cables simply do not work for unknown reasons). I am sorry I cannot give a better answer than that at the moment, we are looking into it though.

@onurg: Please post a copy of your dxdiag here and I will take a look (start -> run -> dxdiag -> Save All Information).

Thank you,

-Nic

Having this issue with a new NUC:

Intel NUC BOXDC3217IYE (HD Graphics 4000)

BYTECC Model HMD-6 6 ft. HDMI High Speed Male to DVI-D Male Single Link Cable M-M

Gateway 900G FPD1965 (Old circa 2005) using DVI port

Works on windows VGA driver, as soon as I load the Intel driver it black-screens an instant after the Windows logo pops up. Fortunately I added it to the domain and was able to remote into it. Manually disabling the HD 4000 Graphics and re-enabling it fixes the problem, more or less, it won't let me log into the remote session but I can start a new session at the console.

I downloaded the devcon utility from Microsoft, added the folder to the system PATH, and made a batch file to run at Windows Startup (30 second delay):

devcon /r disable *DEV_0166*

devcon /r enable *DEV_0166*

So it does seem like a driver or device issue to me. The cable and monitor work fine after that.

Exactly the same problem with an IvyBridg Processor G1610.

Mainboard is Gigabyte GA-H61N-USB3

CPU Intel Celeron G1610

4GB Ram

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

System works fine with standard VGA driver (even the sound over hdmi is working there)

As soon as I installed the latest Intel video drivers the only thing I'm getting is a screen on my TV with the hint there is no hdmi signal. When I disconnect the hdmi cable my TV shows no cable connected.

I tried to connect with a second screen via VGA and my TV via HDMI but my TV cannot be recognized at all.

It doesn't matter if I take the Gigabyte drivers from there website or the drivers here directly from Intel.

When I use an AMD HD 6450 Videocard my TV is working perfect with the same cable and hardware described above.

I tried to get a solution via internet but it seems to me there is no solution out there now.

Please fix these drivers there is something wrong ....

I have a Gigabyte Z77M-D3H-MVP V1.1 with HD4000 and a Panasonic Plasma connected via HDMI and have the same issues using Windows 7. The board and HDMI onboard works fine until you install the Intel driver. The machine boots, displays BIOS screen, loading windows screen and when the windows login screen loads and then it drops the screen. (I'm certain that this is time when the driver is invoked).

Everything is fine with default VGA Windows 7 driver and booting into safe mode with the driver installed.

Intel driver works with a LCD monitor and VGA connector.

I've tried three revision versions of the intel driver and replicate the same problem over HDMI.

I also own another of the same board V1.0 which works fine with HDMI.

Based on my analysis it is not the cable or the TV, it an issue with the driver and a revision to the hardware.

This issue is also reported on other forums.

I find it hard to believe that such a significant bug exists.

Hello nic, i have an ASUS K55V with the same issue.

So, i recently formated my PC and after i formated HDMI haven't worked anymore.

My PC detects the TV (37LG3000) and at first the TV said Invalid Format. So i've plugged the HDMI into another laptop that's also using an intel card (Not an HD4000 tho, an older model) and it worked (as that laptop always did) and when i went to the intel options i saw the PC was sending a 59 hz signal so i've plugged again back on my ASUS K55V and noticed i was trying to send a 23 hz signal, after testing i noticed that from 23 to 25 hz i'd get an invalid format error on TV but from 29hz and above i'd get No Signal error on TV. In both cases my PC detects TV and is using Clone Mode.

Hope this helps you detect the problem....

I've an Asus TX 300, a quite expensive notebook.

The problem is clearly due to intel hd 4000 graphic card.

I'm so disappointed from Intel, from January no driver update to solve the issue neither an official position, shame...

Thank you for your answer Nic and for the future updates.

I'm sure you'll notify us as soon as there is an evolution.

MSI Z77A-G43 LGA 1155

i5 3570K

SAME f_king problem with HDMI!!!! i spent 500$ bought Intel and literaly bought a problem! Have similar problem as in this topic and many others all over the world!!!

Samsung Plasma connected via HDMI main monitor connected by DVI. Dvi works fine. The board and HDMI onboard works fine until you install the Intel driver. The machine boots, displays BIOS screen, on both DVI+HDMI loading windows screen and when the windows login screen loads and then it drops the screen on HDMI. Everything is fine with default VGA Windows 7 driver and booting into safe mode with the driver installed.

MAKE MOVE MAKE NORMAL DRIVER!!! SHAME ON YOU INTEL!

I just got a E6430s with a mini-hdmi port. It has HD4000 graphics. It will detect my TV but it will not display to it. I have tried several different cables and have tried the latest drivers. I have another Computer with AMD Radeon Graphics that has no problem displaying to it. I have used computers at work with Intel's integrated HD graphics but HD3000. They will connect to HDMI but still it is a major pain in the butt compared to AMD's Radeon. Obviously intel has major issues interfacing with HDMI ports. I don't see why it's taking them so long to get it fixed.

Having same problem here, 3570K with HD4000 graphics, video output is very erratic, sometimes HDMI comes up, but usually only VGA out comes up reliably, so I'm stuck at 1280 x 1024. Tried all sorts of settings including ramping RAM down off XMS back to SPD speed just incase it was a timing issue, but to no avail.

Driver sometimes recognizes 2nd video output but it only rarely. It seemed to initially work fine with very old driver but with new drivers it quit working. Very frustrating.

If I pop in my AMD 6670 card, the HDMI output works fine. I don't like to use it due to flickering issues with AMD but thats a whole different issue unrelated to the intel graphics.

board manufacturer (biostar) doesn't seem to know whats the problem.

Has there been any update to this year+ old issue? My brand new i3 4130 has this same issue, as soon as you install the graphics drivers HDMI becomes useless and won't output anything. DVI still shows an image, but that is pretty useless for a HTPC!!

2) display adapters > right click intel hd4000>properties>driver ( next general tab )

3) choose update driver> browse my computer for driver software

4)choose "let me pick from the list of device driver on my computer."

I have the same problem... Have a Dell N5110 (intel hd 3000 / NVidia 525m / Windows 😎 and although I connect it to a Panasonic LED TV through HDMI my laptop image wont display on the tv. Sometimes, the display is shown on the tv for a couple of seconds, starts to flicker (a second it shows and a second it doesn't) and after about 10seconds the tv turns black. I have tried an Acer V3-771G-73638G50Maii (NVidia 710M / Windows 😎 and it connects immediately. This is really frustrating. I wanted to buy an external monitor to my laptop so that I can use it for photoediting, however, until I am 100% that it will work with my laptop, I cant!!! Please help!
