Hello,
I have been struggling to connect my PC to a second monitor for a while. I have 2 different graphic cards : NVIDIA Quadro M2000M and Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 on a HP Zbook 15 G3 running Windows 11.
- When I connect or disconnect the HDMI cable, I hear the connection sound signal, but the monitor displays a "no signal" message, and the second monitor does not appear in my display settings.
- The only temporary fix I found is to uninstall and reinstall the graphics drivers multiple times.
- I have tried multiple cables and monitors that work perfectly with other computers.
- I have also uninstalled and manually reinstalled both drivers, but this hasn't improved the situation.
I suspect the issue comes from the Intel driver, because this product has been discontinued. Additionally, I used to manage my display settings with the Intel Graphics Control Panel, which has since been replaced by the Intel Graphics Command Center. This change coincides with the moment the issue started. I read online that this transition is normal, but it still seems to have affected my configuration.
So my question is: How can I resolve this issue with a discontinued Intel graphics driver?
It's really frustrating, especially because I’m otherwise very happy with my computer and don't want to replace it.
Thanks for your time and help.

HP ZBook 15 G3 - Maintenance and Service Manual
As far as I know, the path of the video signals on this Skylake platform internally is as follows:
PI3VDP12412 is a 2-to-1 multiplexer
"Alpine Ridge" is an Intel Thunderbolt 3 - Controller
As you can see, several chips from different manufacturers are involved in the video output. Therefore, I would recommend sticking with the drivers that the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM = in this case HP) offers for download on its website:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-zbook-15-g3-mobile-workstation/8693763
So please check the drivers for graphics and chipset.
If the monitor has a DisplayPort, you can also connect it with a USB Type-C to DisplayPort cable, for example:
- Zeskit MAYA 8K Bi-Directional USB-C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable
- Club 3D USB Type C Cable to DP 1.4 (CAC-1557)
- Cable Matters USB-C to DisplayPort Cable - 8K Ready (201036)
- Cable Matters Premium Braided USB C to DisplayPort 1.4 Cable (201336)

Thank you very much for your answer and explanation ! (Sorry for my answer delay).
Unfortunately the driver recommended by HP for Intel display is not adapted for windows 11 (only until windows 10). I am going to rather contact hp support, thanks for the advice.
And when i connect the monitor with USB-C, the PC freezes 😭
Thank you again !
