"Display power saving technology" always resets

I have an Acer laptop with an I5 processor and the Intel HD Graphics processor. Anytime I change the settings to the "display power saving technology (on battery)" tab under the power section in the control panel, it always reverts back. Even if I create a new profile it reverts back to the "current settings" profile.

I just want to be able to turn it off or switch the setting and have it stay that way.

Any help?

Hello,

I suggets you to check on this issue directly with the laptop manufacturer since this might be related to the ACPI policies that they have establised for the system you have.

Well instead of waiting for email i tried removing the computer manufacturers power saving program and that worked. Now when I restart my computer, Intel's Display Power Saving Technology does not reset so it looks to me like it was a conflict of power saving programs. I am not very fluent in computers nor am I claiming to be any type of professional, I am only stating that which seems to have worked for me.

I have upgraded my windows 7 Home Premium to windows 8 pro. When I install the quick set the power saving technology turns on in battery mode but after rebooting it is off. If I reinstall, it works to activate "dell power saving technology" but when again restart it is not working. I am novice in technology. Please suggest a solution
