refresh rate locked on external monitor

Hi,

My external monitor supports upto 165hz at 1080p, but when i first used it about 2 years, I could only get 144hz. Now my monitor is capped at 120hz  at 1080p. Im still using the same setup, my laptop and monitor support HDMI 2.0 and im using the hdmi cable that came with the monitor. I am assuming (based on nvidia control panel), that the monitor's display adapter is my intel i7-11800H and not the rtx 3050. Is this issue due the graphics driver of either GPU's. I have included the SSU report aswell.
thanks

@MasterMind

I checked tech specs of your processor I found max frequency is 60hz

The bandwidth of the HDMI 2.0 port is sufficient, but from experience I would recommend operating the monitor via the DisplayPort protocol. You can connect the monitor to the Thunderbolt 4 port (DisplayPort 1.4a HBR3) using one of these cables:

I dont currently have a display port and i do sometimes use the thunderbolt for other devices. is there any other solution to getting back that 144hz or 165hz. was it locked after a driver update?

I'm not entirely sure how the HDMI port is connected to the graphics chips. However, in case of a laptop, use the drivers provided by the device manufacturer if possible.

The driver of your Nvidia chip is not the one that Dell offers for download.
