screen resolution is max but i get notified it's not

i got a new laptop a few days ago and i have been getting notified my screen resolution is not at 1980x1020 but when i go to graphic controls it is set to 1980x1020

i never had a good laptop before and thus never needed to install drivers and such as im not technically profound my laptop has 4th Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 4600

Do you by any chance have an external display connected to the laptop?

all i connect is either USB, iPod and charger, so no external displays
