What driver version do you currently have installed?

Where did you get this driver? From HP?

What is the latest version of the driver that is downloadable from HP site?

What version were you trying to install? From Intel?

In theory, the process you want to follow is as follows:

  1. Download latest driver version available from HP.
  2. Download latest driver version available from Intel (which is here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29616/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers).
  3. Disconnect laptop from Internet. Unplug any Ethernet cable and/or disable Wireless. Do not reconnect until told to.
  4. From Apps & Features settings applet, uninstall the Intel Graphics Driver entry.
  5. Reboot (keeping Internet disconnected).
  6. From Device Manager applet, if driver assigned to Intel Graphics engine is the Microsoft Basic Graphics Adapter, go to Step 9.
  7. Right-click on the Intel driver entry and select Uninstall Device. In the dialog that appears, select (checkmark) the Delete the driver software for this device selection and then press Uninstall.
  8. Go to Step 5.
  9. Install the package that you downloaded from the HP site in Step 1.
  10. Reboot (keeping Internet disconnected).
  11. Install the latest package that you download from the Intel site in Step 2.
  12. Reboot (keeping Internet disconnected).
  13. Reconnect Internet. Plug Ethernet cable back in and/or enable Wireless.
  14. Test.

Hope this helps,
