tripel monitor setup for UHD 630

i have the Intel UHD Graphics 630 in my desktop (i7-8700, 64 GB Ram) running Windows 10 Pro. It comes with 3 ports, HDMI(1.4), VGA and DVI-D. Currently I am running 3 24 inch 1920x1080 monitors and works fine. I want to replace 1 of these monitors with a 27" or 30" monitor. Would I be able to replace 1 1920x1080 monitor with a 3840x2160 (4k) monitor? It is not for gaming. Is the maximum resolution for 1 port of for the 3 ports combined? thanks

Hello EPott1,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

It's worth mentioning that this configuration might be possible depending on how the manufacturer has customized the ports to support certain resolutions, also this will depend on the bandwidth. The processor you have supports 4096x2304@24Hz through HDMI 1.4. VGA and DVI-D are not natively supported on this processor model, I would like to confirm some information about your computer so we can see the set up of your system, please run the following tools and attach the reports generated to the thread.

1. Intel® System Support Utility (Intel® SSU)

  • Intel® SSU Download link
  • Open the application and click on "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel® SSU will take you to the "Summary View".
  • Click on the menu where it says "Summary" to change to "Detailed View".
  • To save your scan, click on "Next", then "Save".

Please generate the following report with the 3 monitors connected.

2. Intel® Graphics Command Center report

  • Open Intel® Graphics Command Center.
  • Click on support.
  • Click on the tab System Diagnostic.
  • Generate report.
  • Save the file.
  • Upload the file to the thread.

In case you have Control Panel for Intel® Graphics on your computer you can follow the steps from the link below to get the graphics report:

Hello EPott1,

Thank you for your reply.

I was checking the reports which helped me to find more details about your system ''Gigabyte B360M DS3H'' and based on the system manufacturer specifications the max resolution supported for up to 3 displays at the same time is:

Integrated Graphics Processor-Intel® HD Graphics support:

1 x D-Sub port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60 Hz

1 x DVI-D port, supporting a maximum resolution of 1920x1200@60 Hz

* The DVI-D port does not support D-Sub connection by adapter.

1 x HDMI port, supporting a maximum resolution of 4096x2160@30 Hz

many thanks Adrian. Yes I admit I came across this also but was not sure I could run them at the same time. I asked the dealer twice but they do not reply and reaching them by phone seems impossible these days. I asked another dealer and they gave me the wrong answer. On youtube there are videos that seem to suggest it is possible so this is why i am asking here as well.

Only issue now is the 30Hz. Since for instance the iiyama G-Master Gold Phoenix GB2888UHSU-B1 28" 4K  has a refresh rate of 60Hz. Not sure if this will work when the HDMI port works at 30Hz for these resolutions. I guess this information should be giving by a dealer accurately (if one can reach them). What I found sofar is that it could work but the quality is horrible so I might have to be content with a WQHD (2560x1440) monitor instead.

I have been reading some of the comments on using 4K at 30Hz and even though I am not using it for gaming but for trading and trading system development and also browsing and normal use it does not seem very nice to use. So I am going for the WQHD monitor instead I think. Here 60Hz would be supported.

Hello EPott1,

Thank you for your response.

The maximum resolution supported through HDMI* 1.4 will be 4096x2304@24Hz ''processor graphics'', I consider that what you have in mind getting a monitor 2560x1440@60Hz sounds good but it's your choice.

As you mentioned, it's recommended to confirm the resolutions with the dealer or system manufacturer.

Hope this helps,

yes I am expecting the 2560x1440 monitor today. I did not want to risk this 30Hz or lower refresh rate. Some say it is ok on a 4K monitor, others say it is horrible. But wanted to mae sure because for 50€ more you can buy a good 4K monitor at 28 inch. I now bought a 27 inch 2560x1440 at max 75Hz. Hope it will work correctly 😀

Hello EPott1,

Thank you for your response.

Based on the motherboard manufacturer specifications, you should not have issues setting this 2560x1440 60Hz.

thanks for your reply, I have one already and is working fine. Just the monitor itself is a little disappointing but I had no issues installing it. I bought this 1: iiyama ProLite XUB2792QSU-B1

iiyama has been my favorite brand for years but this 1 is quite bright. Especially noticable in the dark then you see the corners noticably brighter. Was not able to correct for it yet with the settings. But it is just a minor issue and decided not to try to change it. And what I also noticed is that because I have two 24 inch 1920x1080 and the one 27 inch 2560x1440 in the middle the mouse not always moves from 1 monitor to the next fluently. Sometimes it gets "stuck" when I move from the 27 inch to the 24 inch. Not that the mouse does not move it just has some troubles jumping to the other screen. But not always. Not sure yet why this happens. But I am happy with it.
