unsupported signal. please check device output.

Dell Insperion, Intell video card. Intially displayed to television untell Nvember 29th update. Television HDMI inoput now displays "Unsupported signal. Please check the device output. Tried Windwos 10 updates and Dell updates and Intel updates as late as January 14, 2017 and still have the problem. Display output setting match Sony TV input criteria. Other computers with same HDMI cord work okay.

In this case we always recommend to install the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the laptop, in this case Dell:

Did you try to un-install the graphics driver and re-install it again?

 

Did you try to disconnect and re-connect the HDMI cable?
