vga port not working on motherboard

so i bought a dell optiplex 9020 desktop that has an nvidia graphics card in it geforce 745. The display ports on the graphics card are working , but the vga port on the motherboard does not work, nothing happens when i plug in a monitor. does this have to do with the graphics card? or is something disabled? thanks. my processor is i5 4440 3.10GHz

Sometimes, inserting a video card will disable thge on board video..

Check your video settings in the bios.
