Hi antik_,

Thank you for posting in the community, I have some clarification on this matter can you answer some question for me:

  1. Are you using a laptop or desktop?
  2. What application does your driver calling?
  3. Can you explain the issue more to me?

I'm using a desktop computer. There is an antivirus software called "Huorong Security" installed on my computer. This software can detect whether an application is accessing the camera or microphone, and it will pop up a window to prompt users whether to allow the application to use the camera or microphone. When the system starts up, this antivirus software detects that your graphics card driver program, ArcControlService.exe, is using the camera (as shown in the picture just now).

However, I've noticed that your Arc graphics card driver has a function to use the camera in the screen recording area. Perhaps you just want to check whether the camera exists when the system boots up, rather than secretly using the camera to record in the background as I thought. You could make a slight modification so that the detection of whether the camera exists is carried out when users start using the camera for recording.

Of course, these are just my speculations. If possible, I hope you can download the "Huorong Security" antivirus software and then carefully debug your driver program to try to avoid being detected and prompted by the antivirus software.

Hi antik_,

Can you share to me if what graphics driver you are currently in and the exact model of your GPU? Also, to better understand your entire system information, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This will generate a text file that compiles all your system information. You can follow this link for instructions and send the text file here. How to get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows

Additionally, your speculation is correct. However, for assurance, let me further investigate this on my end after you provide the necessary information above.

Hi antik_,

Thank you for sharing this information with me. I would like to further inform you that the Arc Graphics Driver includes a feature called Virtual Camera, which is used for screen recording and taking screenshots via Arc Control. Therefore, there is no harm in allowing it to access your camera, microphone, and speaker, as all of these are utilized by the graphics driver.

Though if you wish to try using the virtual camera, you may follow these steps on how to access it:

  1. Open Intel® Arc™ Control by using Alt + i and open the Studio tab.
  2. Select Virtual Devices from either the left or top navigation menu.
  3. Select your preferred settings for the following by using the drop-down menus:
  4. Click the on switch next to Enable Virtual Device to start using your Virtual Camera.

For complete information you may check this link for the article How Do I Use the Virtual Camera in Intel® Arc Control for Streaming or Content Creation? Let me know if you have other inquiries that I can assist you.
