The 3D acceleration of Plants vs. Zombies can be turned on in GPU driver 32.0.101.6653.
But it cannot be turned on in GPU driver 32.0.101.6734.

Hi Bitboy,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum regarding the 3D acceleration issue you're experiencing with Plants vs. Zombies. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

  • Have you used DDU to completely remove all residual drivers and installed a new one?
  • Have you tried adjusting the graphics settings?
  • Did you verify the game files or reinstall the game with the latest driver?
  • Have you tried updating the game?
  • Could you provide a screenshot of your in-game display and graphics settings?
  • Which gaming platform did you use to download the game?

Additionally, to gain a comprehensive understanding of your system, please use the System Support Utility (SSU). This tool will generate a text file compiling all your system information. You can follow the instructions at this link and send the text file here. Help Guide for the Intel® System Support Utility.

1. Even after deleting all drivers and reinstalling, 3D acceleration still cannot be used.
2. Use default settings.
3. Deleting the game and reinstalling it still has the same problem.
4. The game has not been updated
5. steam

Hi Bitboy,

Thank you for providing the requested information. To resolve the issue, please follow the steps below:

  • Visit [fdossena.com] to download an earlier version of WineD3D (Pre-Vulkan 1.7.52).
  • Extract the following three files from the downloaded archive and place them in the game's installation folder:
    • ddraw.dll
    • libwine.dll
    • wined3d.dll
  • Transfer these three files (ddraw.dll, libwine.dll, wined3d.dll) to C:\ProgramData\PopCap Games\PlantsVsZombies, which is the directory where popcapgame1.exe is generated while the game is running. You can now activate 3D Acceleration. Enjoy the game!

Note: When playing in fullscreen mode, the graphics will no longer be stretched. Instead, you'll see black bars on the left and right sides due to the 4:3 aspect ratio, as the game does not support widescreen displays.

If you still cannot enable 3D acceleration after completing the steps outlined earlier, you may need to modify the game's registry settings. Here's how:

  1. Launch the Registry Editor (regedit) and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SteamPopCap\PlantsVsZombies.
  2. Adjust the values of the ScreenMode and WaitForVSync keys from 0 to 1.
  3. Start the game and activate 3D acceleration.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Thank you.

But I found that 3d acceleration and full-screen display can't be used at the same time, otherwise it will always be in a black screen state.
And setting the option "WaitForVSync" to 0 or 1 has no effect.
