Hello,
I am having an issue with gaming and streaming streaming with my ARC A770. I am playing PUBG and have a new peculiar issue .
First the game related issue, if I alt+tab out of PUBG and come back my frame rate is dropped to 60fps, but an extremely stuttery 60FPS, unplayable. Sometimes you can alt+tab in and out a few times and it will fix it. However that was not working yesterday. If I changed the game settings between Windowed or FullScreen (going either way) it would fix the problem (switching to full screen borderless did not fix it).
This is a pain but but can be dealt with although it sucks if I am trying to type on discord and tab back to the game and then have to switch screen modes to get a decent frame rate back. However this problem breaks by ability to Game Stream.
I am duplicating the output of my main monitor which is DisplayPort to a capture device over HDMI. This works fine, the display output works well. However I am also sending Audio over the HDMI connection to the capture device.
When I have to change between windowed and full screen mode to fix the frame rate it resets the screen as if it was resolution change and it takes a few seconds to come back, during that change it disconnects the audio channel and it does not restart. I can get the Audio to restart if I close and open my audio app again (Voicemeter Potato), however if I open and close that app and Tab back into the game I now have bad frame rate again, and I have to change between fullscreen and windowed again, which disconnects the audio ... etc. etc.
The issue with the frame rate was not present or only required a second alt+tab last week I was able to stream successfully from the same setup.
The framerate issue seems to be the driver/card has not detected the game is the focused window (that's just my guess).
Intel ARC A770 LE 16GB Driver: 32.0.101.6874
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
ASUS ROG STRIX B550-E
PUBG over Steam
Rebar is enabled
Capture device
VIXLW 4K HDMI

And while I would blame the cheap capture device for some of the issue, I stream XBOX 6 days a week with it or 7 now the PC isn't working.
You can see how the issue manifests here: Starts at 21:17 and I struggle with it for 40 minutes 1:03:57 before to switching to XBOX

Thanks in advance.

Hi CLEARRTC,
Thank you for your detailed report, the SSU log, and the reference video link. I appreciate the comprehensive information, which helps us better understand the issue you're facing with your Intel® Arc A770 during gaming and live streaming workflows. Based on your description, it appears you're encountering a GPU context loss and display reinitialization issue triggered by display mode transitions in PUBG, which results in Unstable frame rates post-alt+tab (despite hardware and driver being unchanged), and HDMI audio stream drop when toggling between display modes (disrupting streaming setup).
- Did the issue begin immediately after updating to driver 32.0.101.6874, or was it gradual?
- Are you using any refresh rate caps (either in-game or via Arc Control)?
- Are you duplicating the entire desktop to the capture device or using OBS/similar to isolate the game window?
- Does the HDMI audio drop occur only when switching display modes or even on initial startup?
- Is V-Sync or frame rate limiting enabled in PUBG?
Have a nice day!
Best regards,

Hey Von,
Thanks for the quick reply
- Did the issue begin immediately after updating to driver 32.0.101.6874, or was it gradual?
* I updated to that version last week and then streamed for about 6 hours with no issues (I am aware of I will go back and review content) I checked content and last Sunday I had game Audio the whole time https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2474404417 - Are you using any refresh rate caps (either in-game or via Arc Control)?
* I think PUBG had lobby cap but I turned them all off in both ARC Control and PUBG - Are you duplicating the entire desktop to the capture device or using OBS/similar to isolate the game window?
* I am duplicating the whole desktop, I have the capture device plugged into the A770's HDMI output, that then connects to my Stream PC via USB 3.1 - Does the HDMI audio drop occur only when switching display modes or even on initial startup?
* So the Audio drops out only when screen switching happens, its working fine when I start the game, its when I change screen modes to fix the frame rate the audio drops out. - Is V-Sync or frame rate limiting enabled in PUBG?
* I have V-Sync off in both ARC Control and PUBG, and I believe all frame limiting is disabled.
Thanks Again

Man, that weird stuttery 60FPS sounds like the game or driver isn't properly reengaging full GPU resources when focus is lost and regained. I’ve seen similar stuff with other cards too Sometimes it’s a driver hiccup, sometimes it’s how the game handles focus. Since switching between fullscreen and windowed helps, try a tool like Borderless Gaming to force a more stable window mode. That HDMI audio cut when switching display modes is classic Windows treats it like a device unplug/replug if Voicemeeter is involved, try to route audio through a virtual cable instead of directly over HDMI, then send that to your stream PC. That way, even if the HDMI device resets, your audio path stays stable.
32.0.101.6874 driver you're using is already a bit outdated (released back on 5/30/2025). try updating to the latest version for better stability and performance. You can grab it here:
