I have the problem from the subject with Intel Arc B580 connected to 4K UHD TV. When I play PC games and want to lower the resolution to 1440p from native, I receive a windowed instead of full screen. The same happens and when just changing the desktop resolution of Win11. There is no problem with 1080p or 2160p (native). Doesn't matter if scaling mode is changed in Intel graphics software from Display to GPU.

Hello, and thanks for the reply. Here is the required info :
- Please provide the SSU log report and share it here so I can review your system's configuration. - Provided
- Are you using HDMI or DisplayPort? - HDMI 2.1 144 Hz
- What specific 4K TV model are you using? - TCL 55C735
- What happens if you manually set 1440p at different refresh rates (60Hz, 120Hz)? - Here is the key part. When I use IGCC beta to change resolutions, i get fullscreen at 1440p, but only on 120 Hz ! When I change to 60 Hz, again I get centered window instead fullscreen. If I change resolution from Windows display settings, there is no difference between 60 and 120 Hz, always window at 1440p.
- When did the issue first start occurring? Was everything working fine before that? - It started from day one when I mounted the B580 at the end of August 2025, with the first game installed. It was fine before that with an old AMD Radeon 6000 series. Although some games like Hellblade 2 and Kona 2 were fine at 1440p fullscreen 120 Hz. Refresh rate is set in Windows to be always @120Hz.
- Have you made any software or hardware changes to the system recently? - No. Just updated intel graphics driver when new one is available ( 5 times from 08.2025 until today).
- Have you tried updating your graphics driver to the latest version, 32.0.101.8136? - Yes, I am using the latest.

This appears to be a 55" TCL Google TV with HDMI 2.1 FRL6 from 2020 (probably Realtek RTD2851M).
The first EDID block advertises:
This is a standard PC signal. If "Display Scaling" is selected in the Intel graphics software, that should theoretically be sufficient.
But simulating the TV to my Iris Xe (32.0.101.7076), I can confirm the behavior (see Start > Settings > System > Display > Advanced Display on your PC):
What happens when you press "ZOOM" on the remote control?

Apparently, Active Signal Mode can only be matched with Desktop Mode if the display device explicitly advertises all refresh rates at PC resolutions as supported. By default, this is only the case for 1440p @ 120 Hz. I added 60 Hz for testing purposes, and now it works there as well.
If you'd like to try it out, please do the following:
- Download Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)
- Run CRU.exe
- Make sure the active EDID is XXX9615 - Beyond TV connected to your PC (1)
- Proceed as shown:
- Close all CRU windows with OK (6) and restart the computer.
Select 2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz in the Windows display settings.
Open Intel Graphics Software and switch to Display.
Whatever is displayed there: Change the setting to something else, then back to "Display Scaling" and "Maintain Display Scaling".
Now, even at 60 Hz, the TV should display a full screen.
Note:
All changes made with CRU can be undone if necessary by running "reset-all.exe" from the CRU download package and restarting the system. You can find more information about this tool on the linked page.

I would like to remind you following information my from previous messages : Only in IGCC beta it is possible to change resolution to 1440p 120Hz. and get fullscreen (which you succeeded in the simulation). In my Windows display settings this change is not possible neither with 120 Hz nor 60 Hz and results only in centered window. The same happens when the resoluton is changed from in-game settings, which is the main reason for this topic. If you still think your advice with adding 1440p 60Hz resolution to CRU could help in this case, I will try it later this evening. Thank you for the support!

No, if you don't absolutely need 1440p @ 60 Hz, you can save yourself the trouble. In my simulation, changing the resolution in the Windows display settings to 1440p @ 120 Hz works perfectly. I haven't used IGCC to change the resolution in a long time. Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with PC game settings and can't comment on that. Apparently, our two systems are too different.
We need advice from the Intel Graphics Team here.

Hi @Rumzeiss,
After reviewing all the technical information you provided and the excellent analysis from our community expert, I've identified the the driver gets confused and sends a 4K signal instead, which makes your content appear in a small window in the center of the screen.
I recommend trying this CRU solution first, as the technical analysis is very thorough and credible. After implementing it, please test your games and Windows display settings to see if 1440p now works properly in fullscreen. If you're still experiencing issues after correctly applying this fix, then we'll need to coordinate this internally for deeper investigation, as it would indicate a more complex driver compatibility problem.
Please let me know how the CRU solution works for you.
Best regards,
Randy T.

Hi @Rumzeiss,
Thank you for your patience while we investigated the reported issue. Here are our findings and next steps. I thoroughly tested your reported issue using a similar configuration (12th Gen Intel + B580 graphics card with driver version 101.8136 + 4K@144Hz monitor) and was unable to reproduce the scaling problem you experienced.
Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Follow the resolution adjustment guide available, Try changing your display resolution settings and Test if the scaling issue persists after making these adjustments
- Open Windows Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Display.
- Make sure the current Display resolution is set to the Recommended resolution.
- Select Advanced display.
- Click Display adapter properties for Display X.
- Click List All Modes.
- Select the full-half of the display recommended resolution, for example: 1920 x 2160 for 3840 x 2160, 1280 x 1080 for 2560 x 1080.
- Click OK and Apply.
If the issue continues after trying the above steps. Based on the EDID information you provided for your TCL 55C735 TV, I've identified that your display has a hardware limitation. Your TV supports 1440p resolution at 120Hz but does not support 1440p at 60Hz. This limitation is causing the scaling issues you're experiencing, as it's a constraint of the TV's display capabilities rather than a graphics driver issue. With this in mind it is better to consult TCL Support.

Hello!
1. None of the suggested full-half resolutions are available from the choice of resolutions at " list all modes" option.
2. It's very convenient to shift the problem to TCL, but it's just an avoidance of the truth that the drivers for the Arc B580 are still "under development", almost a year after the model's release. I haven't even mentioned the extremely annoying random screen flickering that doesn't go away with any software settings or driver version.
3. Kindly reminding you the information i shared with you in the previous messages, that before Arc B580 in the same PC configuration worked Radeon 6000 series graphics card without any of the mentioned problems. Before that, an Nvidia 1060 - also without the commented issues, all cards connected to the same TCL TV 55C735 !!
4. The only thing that came to my mind and have not tried it is a clean reinstall of Windows 11. What i did already is a factory reset of the TV which didn't help, as expected.

I simulated your TV again on an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti using the EDID from the Intel graphics driver report. The behavior is identical to the Intel driver.
If a display device's EDID doesn't explicitly specify a resolution and refresh rate combination, the graphics card isn't allowed to send it. Hence the difference between Active Signal Mode and Desktop Mode. Depending on the scaling settings, the Nvidia card also only displays a window with black bars.
Please try the following on your Intel Arc B580. On my Iris Xe, this results in full screen:
Regarding the random screen flickering, please note that both the B580 and the TV have HDMI 2.1 ports. Connect an Ultra High Speed HDMI cable, preferably a certified one, between your graphics card and the TV. The cable length should be at least 2 meters (6.6 ft) and no more than 3 meters (10 ft). Experience shows that TVs are often less fault-tolerant than monitors with regard to signal integrity and the propagation times of control signals.
