Arc b580 instal issues, no display

Hi, i have updated my gpu to a arc b580 on my old system to hopefully give a bit of a boost and enable 3 monitors as my old gpu only does 2.

Cpu - i7 4790
Motherboard - asus h97 plus
Ram - ddr3 16gb 4x4gb
Ssd - samsung on sata bus
Other hdd’s also
Psu - antec platinum 650
Sound card - sonar dx
Os - win 10 up to date

Issue is that once new gpu installed bios screen comes up (the surrounding of logo isnt correct as its white with coloured dots instead of black) but after bios monitor goes black screen (not no signal just black indefinitely) if i put my old gpu back in all works fine or if i pull gpu out completely and use onboard graphics it works.

Obviously i have the 8 pin power connector in and pci-e seated etc.

I turned on the 4g in bios but unable to find the rebar option to enable.

I understand the older system will be a bit of a bottleneck but not really using for gaming so much.

I have tried installing the arc drivers via intel graphics driver installer but comes up with “something went wrong, no driver was found that can be installed on the current device installer exit code 8

Can someone help me with how to get this gpu working??

Hello Chade,

Thank you for posting in the community. It seems you've already provided clear information about your issue. However, I have a few additional questions to better understand your situation:

  1. Is the BIOS version currently installed on your motherboard 2603?
  2. What is your current graphics driver version?
  3. To confirm, did you previously use a different brand of GPU? If so, did you uninstall the previous driver using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)?
  4. What was the model of your previous GPU?
  5. Have you tried using an older graphics driver for testing purposes?
  6. During installation, did you select the custom installation option and check the "clean installation" box?
