B580 Performance degradation over time in Hunt Showdown 1896

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D
Graphics driver: 32.0.101.6559
Game: Hunt Showdown 1896 (Steam)
Settings: 1440p, FSR Balanced with 0.2 Sharpness, Object Quality Ultra, Texture Quality High, Texture Filtering 16X, Global Illumination Medium, Water Quality Medium, View Distance Ratio Ultra, GPU Tessellation ON, everything else - the lowest setting possible.
Rezisable Bar: ON

Issue:
Happens in modes : Bounty Hunt & Shooting range
The game runs really well during the first match, but the perfomance degrades as soon as I enter the next match. This behavior is constant, all I have to do to replicate it is just to start my session like usual and just play, I am playing this game everyday for over a month now on the B580 and didnt have a single day without this issue.
I know comparing perfomance in a multiplayer game with random spawns and no map selection is tricky, so for this purpose I am using the shooting range. So when I just launch the game and get right into the shooting range I am getting around 152 FPS and after just a match or two Im getting around 112FPS at the shooting range in the same spot. When this issue happens the perfomance never recovers, the only workaround is to restart the game, but doing so after each match is very inconvinient and of course the perfomance isn't only worse in the shooting range, its also reduced in the normal matches.
Before switching to the B580 I used a Nvidia RTX 3060Ti, which didnt have this issue at all. When the switch happened I uninstalled the Nvidia driver using DDU. Yesterday I also uninstalled the Intel driver using DDU and then installed this version: 32.0.101.6557/32.0.101.6262 using clean install option, then I updated the driver to the 32.0.101.6559, yet the issue still occurs.
The issue started to happen as soon as I installed the B580 in my system just before Christmas, when the driver 32.0.101.6325/32.0.101.101.6253 was the newest one. Since I installed the GPU I always kept my drivers up to date, so it happens regardless of version.

Hi @Ramireeeeez

I have been testing this game for a while now on my Arc B580 + Windows 11 24H2 and drivers 32.0.101.6651, 32.0.101.6653 and 32.0.101.6732 (latest).

After playing 5 sessions in a raw (Bounty Hunt) I did not observe any performance degradation.

Considering the situation, I would suggest trying the latest graphics driver, and reinstalling the game.

If the issue persist, you can try to do a clean OS installation to rule out software issues.

Let me know the results of your testing.

Hello Ramireeeez,

Thank you for raising this issue with us. Just for clarification and to better understand the issue you're facing right now. So, the main issue you're facing right now is the low FPS while playing Hunt Showdown 1896 using low settings. And also, kindly answer some of my questions below:

  1. What is the highest to lowest FPS using the Nvidia graphics?
  2. Did you experience crashing while in-game?
  3. DId you experience lower than 112FPS using B580?
  4. Can you provide a screenshot of the full setting of Hunt Showdown 1896?

And to further assist you, I kindly request that you download and execute the Intel System Support Utility (SSU) in order to provide me with a complete system specification, which will enable me to assist you in reviewing your system information.

When the download is complete, launch SSU.exe.

1. Scan: Check the box Everything.

2. Click Scan.

3. Review: When finished scanning, click Next.

4. Click Save.

Hey, sorry for the very late response.
Yes the main issue is low FPS using low settings, which happens after some time, the first match is always super smooth. The whole game perfomance usually decreases when the map changes when playing matches in the Bounty Hunt mode. The reference point is the shooting range. Before this issue occurs I'm getting around 152FPS and after it occurs I have about 112 FPS. Im not sure about the diffirence in 1% lows, however it feels the game isn't as smooth as before.

1) The highest - a little more than 200 at 1440p and the lowest settings possible with DLSS Ultra Perfomance, back when I was using the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 processor (got replaced by the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D chip). I don't remember the lowest FPS - I don't have the 3060Ti in my system for over a month and I already sold it, nevertheless on Tuesday I'll borrow one from a friend of mine for the time of resolving the issue.

2) Yes, I experienced crashing in game, but very rarely, however it might not be linked to the B580, as I recently discovered I had the paging file disabled somehow, which caused some games to crash in some circumstances and enabling it resolved the issue.

3) I haven't experienced lower than 112 FPS in the shooting range so far, however in regular gameplay after this issue triggers I'm below this figure for the most of the time and it was much worse with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600. Wasn't happening with the Nvidia GPU.

4) Sure, I attached the screenshots with freshly generated SSU information file. Just in case it might end up helpful, my displays support HDR, I didn't enable it in the Windows OS & Hunt Showdown settings tho. I also have Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling turned ON, optimizations for games in windowed mode, VRR.

I'll have chance to play the game again now, I'm going to have recording enabled with CapFrame X running in the background, if there will be anything worth mentioning I will update you.

Best regards

Hello,
I got the game from Steam. I also attached the CapFrameX perfomance data captured according to the guide avaible in the pinned forum thread .
I also managed to get my hands on the RTX 3060Ti a day early and attached the very first data, once I'll consolidate all of it I'll provide it to you as soon as I can. For your clarity, I added the 3060Ti prefix to it's data zip files.
Before installing the Nvidia GPU in my system I followed this guide from Intel's website. I used the 572.42 Nvidia driver.
My first impressions are: the perfomance on the Nvidia GPU feels consistent and doesnt get worse over time, just like before I got myself the B580. The game simply runs much better and smoother, the GPU is being fully utilized, while on the B580 for the most of the time it's not and the FPS are inconsistent.
I also noticed this thread on the forum and this user/s seems to have the same issue like I do.
Moreover, I also did a clean install of Windows 11 and I updated from 23H2 to 24H2. In case it would come handy, I generated a fresh SSU file and attached it. All the data gathered with the Nvidia GPU are after I did the clean install of Windows, while all the data I have regarding the B580 comes from just before I did the clean install.

Have a good day!

Hello John,

I went after the footage of the few matches I played on my B580, here's link to it. I put timestamps in the video description.
Here are some takeaways from it:

  • In the beginning of the 2nd match the inconsistency & low FPS can be seen, moreover if you take a look at 22:40 for about a minute you can get the idea how the perfomance looks like for the rest of the match.

  • Before playing the 3rd match I restarted the game. If you jump through the match's beginning you can see the perfomance is better than in the 2nd match, thanks to the restart. At 52:46 I managed to visit the same POI as in the 2nd match (at about 22:40) and as you can see the perfomance was indeed better after the restart.

  • I noticed when the perfomance degradation and inconsistency happens, if you zoom in with a gun, the game has a FPS drop, it's very easy to scent, also the frametime graph shows it well. Even if you spam the toggle between zooming in and zooming out you can cause a lag/low fps on purpose. What's the most important though, it doesn't happen on the Nvidia 3060Ti. You can see this issue at 59:31 up to 59:51, also 1:07:00 until 1:07:25 and 1:14:00 until 1:15:20.

  • In the 5th match (3rd game in a row after starting the game) at 1:16:31, after a few seconds you can see huge FPS drop & inconsistency which will stay until you restart the game, 1:26:50 all the way up to 1:28:10 is very good example of it. From my experience with the B580 so far, flares seem to drive the perfomance to the rock bottom. I think it's partially the game's issue, as a friend of mine experiences simillar perfomance drop when he plays on his gaming laptop with the i5 13450H CPU and the Nvidia 4060 laptop GPU, nevertheless I never really had this issue with the 3060Ti, even with the AMD Ryzen 5 5600 CPU.

I also managed to review some more of the CapFrameX data I captured before. Zip files with "CPU bound" in the name means I used the same settings I sent before, but with a twist - I changed AMD FSR to Ultra Perfomance and decreased the resolution all the way down to 1600x900. After a few games, on the Nvidia 3060Ti I got about 227 FPS when standing still at the shooting range. Contrary, the B580 gets about 163 FPS at these settings, right after firing up the game. I didnt check the B580 after a few games on these settings - I believe further off-loading GPU when it's already facing utilization issues wouldn't improve the perfomance from about 107 FPS.

I also attached CapFrameX perfomance data from the recorded and mentioned matches I played on my B580. If you wish, I can also send you the CapFrameX perfomance data from the matches I played on the Nvidia 3060Ti.

I hope all the information I gave will help in this investigation.

Best regards,
Ramireeeez
