Bad Performance of B580

Aloha,

A couple of days ago my Intel Arc B580 arrived and after a couple of problems with my old Samsung 226BW Monitor I was eager on playtesting my games because I read so much good about the performance of the B580 but I was (and I am) very dissapointed.
The Performance stayed WAY behind my exprections and it seems the GPU is performing with a pulled handbrake. For example: I have played the last Beta-Weekend of Battlefield 6 with my installed Nvidia GTX 1060 with the default Graphic-Settings absolutly smoothly as whereas now with B580 in that actual beta it is unplayable slow. Further switching on Raytracing in nearly every Game makes it unplayable, too. (beside I have read that B580 would do a fantastic job in Raytracing Games). Even in the oldest Game like Battlefiel V.

What I did so far is to Install the most recent Drivers I got via the Driver-Assistant und I worked myself through the Quick Setup Guide and did all the Changes in my BIOS as far as possible. Disabling the CSM brought _some_ relief.
My Mainboard is somewhat older (ASUS H170-Plus) which has the Above-4G setting (which is enabled) but not a reBAR Setting. But a friend of mine told me the reBAR Option would only bring some percentage Points in Performance.

So what else can I do to unleash the Power of the B580? Any Ideas?

Hi Moppen,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the performance issues you're experiencing with your Intel Arc B580 GPU. I understand how disappointing it can be when the performance doesn't meet expectations, especially after reading positive reviews. I'm here to assist you in resolving this matter.

You've already taken important steps by installing the most recent drivers and adjusting BIOS settings, including disabling CSM and enabling the Above-4G setting. However, I noticed that your motherboard does not support Resizable BAR, which can impact performance. While Resizable BAR can provide additional performance benefits, there are other steps we can explore to improve your experience.

To further address the issue, I recommend updating to the latest graphics driver version 32.0.101.6989, which may offer improvements in performance and stability. You can download it from the following link: Intel Arc & Iris Xe Graphics Driver.

Additionally, performing a clean driver installation using the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) can help remove any remnants of previous drivers that might be affecting performance. Detailed instructions can be found here: DDU Instructions.

For faster communication and assistance, I am available for a phone call. Please let me know a convenient time for you, and I'll ensure we connect promptly to discuss the issue further.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, and I am committed to resolving this matter promptly. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Aloha Dean,

did all that that you suggested. The Driver from 8-11 (the moste recent) weas the one I first installed when I put the card in my System.
For testing purposes (because of WHQL) weent for a short time back to the one from 7-29, but now I am back to the most recent. Now I am wating for the .7000 which accidently mentioned

I am still gathering Information what is going wrong and what is going right. For example: Doom Eternal is running on the highest Settings in Full-HD with Raytrcing enabled smoothly. Control is playing good for the most time, but frequently freezes for a second.

On the other Hand it seems that sometimes the Drivers seems to have Problems, can't start games or watch a YT-Videos and getting strange artefacts all over the Screen (will try to make a screenshot next time) and I need to restart the System to get rid of this.

BTW: Do you know a good FPS Monitoring Software?

Best wishes,
Stefan
