Could Intel enable XeSS via drivers? Can play many games at 4K 60fps, but 4K is a waste of resources

The technology is superb, and even Digital Foundry recommends using these technologies -DLSS, XeSS- over 4K native. And I can understand why.

Quite a few games look like animated movies with it enabled, not a single jaggie in sight.

There is a recent interview with Tom Petersen from Intel, where he mentions at the 25:35 mark that they can add XeSS support as part of the driver, mentioning they have an hybrid model:

After using XeSS in many games I don't want to play 4K native anymore, it's a waste of resources, AA is worse and the IQ is not as good compared to XeSS Quality and Ultra Quality, also you get extra detail with these.

Hello laxesta,

Thank you for posting on the Intel Arc communities.

We appreciate the feedback given on Intel® XeSS.

Take into consideration that Intel® XeSS is a technology that has to be implemented by game developers. Intel® XeSS uses open standards to ensure wide availability on many games and across a broad set of shipping hardware, from both Intel® and other GPU vendors.*

The main requirement for the XeSS algorithm is graphics drivers with support for Shader Model 6.4, making it compatible with a broad set of shipping hardware.

Integration into game engines is a key part of enabling further XeSS adoption. Intel is working closely with leading game engine providers to integrate XeSS.
