Davinci Resolve crashes CONSISTENTLY - Arc B580

I think it is already pretty known that Davinci is very unstable with the ARC B580, as I've seen quite a few posts online about it, but I don't think anyone mentioned this consistent way of how you can crash it.

Not sure how actually useful this information is, but one way I found to crash the application consistently, is by using the "Versions" buttons for preset effects on the edit page. This is especially annoying for me because I use this feature in pretty much every one of my effect presets, therefore making me have to stop using it because I crash very often with it.

So I just made this "Slides" macro that I will share here, so you can try to replicate it if you want. It's just a simple slide-in effect. and Im using the "versions" feature to store 4 variations of this effect preset (slide up/down/left/right).

I find that when I apply this to a clip, and try to switch to one of these versions, very often davinci resolve freezes RIGHT AWAY as soon as I click on one of them, and the only thing I can do is force-close it and restart it.

Sometimes it doesn't crash right away from a single click (even tho it is pretty often the case for me), but If you repeatedly click and switch between these versions very fast, it will ALWAYS crash.

NOTE: Inside the fusion-page of davinci resolve, the "versions" DON'T CRASH the application, and they work completely fine, even If I click them repeatedly very fast.
(To quickly test this, click on the magic wand button on the effect (I outlined it with GREEN on the picture), and there you will have that same effect but in the fusion-page)

Here is the link to that "Slides" effect preset.
(Place it inside "C:\Users\***USERNAME***\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Templates\Edit\Effects")

Hi Danyyy3l,

Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed report and for even including a reproducible example. You’re absolutely right that DaVinci Resolve has previously exhibited instability when used with the Intel® Arc™ B580 graphics, particularly around certain editing functions like the “Versions” button on effect presets. We’ve seen similar feedback and understand how disruptive that can be to your workflow.

The good news is that this specific issue has been addressed as of graphics driver version 32.0.101.6881. We highly recommend installing this version or any newer release, as it includes stability improvements specifically targeting DaVinci Resolve and related crash scenarios.

You can download the latest Intel Graphics Driver here: Intel Download Center – Arc Graphics Driver

After updating, please feel free to test the effect preset again. If you continue to experience crashes or instability, don’t hesitate to share the behavior, and we’ll be more than happy to dig deeper.

Unfortunately I still have a bunch of stability issues regardless of the driver version.
I've been through almost every driver version, and all of them have stability issues with davinci resolve.

This post by a user explains how there are errors with davinci resolve that persist across all driver versions (I checked on my system aswell and I also get these errors in my logs of davinci resolve)

I hope this gets resolved soon

Hello Danyyy3l,

Thanks for sharing that. The fact that you're seeing the same errors mirrored in both your experience and the community post really helps paint a clearer picture of the broader scope of the issue. I’ve taken note of the link/URL, and the specific OpenGL-related errors mentioned.

I'd like to delve deeper and verify specifics like the graphics models, precise driver versions, and any system errors. Utilizing the Intel SSU tool will enable me to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue.

Thanks for looking into this!

Please prioritize this issue. Yesterday I ran into a situation where my project was crashing so much that I literally couldn't properly do a simple revision for a client for like 3 hours, when in reality it could've taken me 10 minutes maximum if I didn't have all these crashes and export issues.

Literally just simply dragging a clip would cause crashes for no apparent reason

Here's an update from the davinci-resolve side.

(I've gave them one of my project files and explained the issues I had just like here)

Any updates?
I've gotten an email confirming you've received the message.

Im still having issues with davinci resolve. A lot of freezes/crashes mid-editing and also mid-exporting.
I probably waste around 25% of the time editing just force closing and restarting davinciresolve due to this.

It's really frustrating, the last short-form video I made, i had to make a revision where I just had to cut-out like 3 seconds from the video, but it took me like literally 2 hours due to constant exporting freezes/resolve crashes.

If you need any more information apart from everything inside of this current post, and this post aswell:
https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-ARC-Graphics/B580-Stability-Issues-with-DaVinci-Resolve-Missing-OpenGL-Entry/m-p/1695427?search-action-id=423926657671&search-result-uid=1695427
Let me know. Im willing to maybe even record my full editing process for a whole video if needed, and give the project file, just to show how incredibly often theres stability issues.
