I was planning to get an A750 when available for a HP Z840, but I have yet to determine if it supports resizable BAR. Would it work without such?

Hello MWind2,

Thank you for posting on the Intel Arc communities.

Thank you for showing interest in the Intel Arc graphics cards.

To answer your question Resizable BAR (or Smart Access Memory) must be enabled for optimal performance when using Intel® Arc™ A-Series Graphics. Though, Intel® Arc™ Graphics can still work on a system without Resizable BAR enabled.

This means that the Intel® Arc™ Graphics will still work on a system without a resizable BAR.

The resizable bar is a motherboard feature that can be enabled under BIOS settings, so in order to confirm this information you will need to contact your motherboard manufacturer.

To get more information about the Resizable bar please refer to the following article:

It will work, but performance will be significantly impacted.  Current motherboards are coming with ReBar enabled by default now, it may not "be required" but I think by the next major release of Nvidia/AMD there will also be significant gains to it being on, or conversely losses when off.

What generation CPU is your workstation?

An integrated security feature known as Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX) helps safeguard active data using innovative application isolation technology. Using hardened enclaves, certain codes and data are shielded from alteration.

Some programmers truly need Intel SGX to function properly, and if it is not found or enabled, a user error will be displayed. Visualization: The short answer to the question of whether you should disable Intel SGX is no.
