Final Fantasy 13-2 with Intel Arc

Hello

I want to ask about any tips how to get more FPS in FF13-2. Im using ARC A770 and have already installed all Fixes for FF13-2 for more fps, anyway game still running around 20-25fps what is a joke. I know this port for pc is bad but worse graphic card from nvidia can achieve 60fps.

Now im using driver: 31.0.101.4887

I tried a few one but effect was the same. For the example FF13 had same problem but i found for this game good drivers and game had stable 60fps.

Any tips or recommened driver?

Hello Bakral,

Thank you for posting in the Intel Communities. We understand that you are experiencing performance issues when playing Final Fantasy XIII. To better assist you, we want to confirm the following information:

  • Is this issue present since you played the game for the first time? If not, was there a system update before the issue started?
  • Is the performance issue related to a specific game zone?
  • What game distribution service do you use to install the game? (Steam, Epic, Microsoft Store)
  • Share with us a screenshot of the game graphics settings you are currently using.
  • We understand that you have an Intel® Arc™ A770, but we would like to check more details about your card. Is it a Limited Edition card, or is it a graphics card from any of the other manufacturers: Acer, AsRock, Sparkle?
  • There is a more recent driver than the 31.0.101.4887, so we recommend you install the latest graphics driver, 31.0.101.4900. In case you have not tied it, you can perform a fresh install of the graphics driver by running the  Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). Please note that previous driver files and leftovers can affect the functionality of your system, and the DDU tool will eliminate all the previous driver installation files.

Hello

Thanks for your anserw. So about your qeustion

  • Yes, issue  occurs from the first launch.
  • No, problem is related to whole game
  • Im playing by steam
  • About graphic setting - tbh is no matter which i set - effect is the same.
  • A770 8gb Phantom Gaming
  • About DDU - i did it, and installed already the newest one drivers - 31.0.101.4952 - effect is the same
I also noticed that the graphics card is used at 80% while playing and the CPU  jumps from 50 to 100, so maybe that can be a problem.

Yes, FPS are dropping every time when there is more happening on screen. Whole game looks like that, mean in every fight fps can drop, the more spectacular the opponent, the worse it is.

Hello Bakral,

Thank you for waiting patiently. We would like to inform you that we have investigated the issue you reported. During gameplay, there are instances where the frames per second (FPS) drop to around 30 just before entering a battle. This happens when the enemies suddenly appear on the screen, as seen in the video we recorded. However, we would like to emphasize that the same problem occurs even when using third-party graphics cards. Hence, we suggest that you contact the game developer to address the issue, as it may be a problem with the application.

Hello Bakral,

Since we have not heard back from you, we will proceed to close this thread. As we mentioned before, this seems to be a game issue, as the issue you reported can be seen when using third-party graphics cards, so we recommend you contact the game developer for further assistance. If you require further assistance, open a new thread, as this one will no longer be monitored.
