GPU stops working on a multi monitor setup and fails to recover at random times.

I have a multi monitor setup ( 2* Dell24"@1920*1200 on dport + 1* Samsung@1920 on hdmi ), at random times between a few tens of minutes to more than a day from booting the computer the graphic card will stop working. The screens go black and after that it tries repeatedly to recover on 1 display but it fails each time, if i restart the computer it works. Failure happened in illustrator, games and even in outlook mail client, i could not find an actual reproduction step. Happened twice to fail and recover fully immediately but i did not receive an error.  You can find the system details attached.

Already ordered another GPU from a competitor to replace it today, tomorrow I'll get this out of the system. It is past the frustration stage, already lost my money and time on this for the past month by having an unusable GPU.

- REBAR requirement, optimal performance should not include crashing, hanging and not starting one display in windows once booted. If it was that critical to have rebar write big .. do not buy if you do not have REBAR. There is nowhere written that the card does not function without this.

- Browser, yes ... anything that can lose the render target and cant recover when driver stops working. Even the start menu in windows goes nuts, the only thing that works is just the desktop.

- Displays: Syncmaster S22B300 , dell u2412mb

- Driver: the new driver i was asked to install does not work at all, and the one you posted i did not try.

Have a great day

I had issues at first. I watched a video where he unplugged the monitors for 30 sec to power cycle them. I tried that and now they all work. I had a 3060 before that worked perfectly, but the video resolved my issue with the Acer ARC A770.

Everything is humming along beautifully now.

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately this is not the case for me. Tried this in the first few days i had the video card, now i have a rtx 4070 in my system and i have no issues with this. My takeaway unless proven wrong is that the intel GPU was not properly tested for compatibility without REBAR and that is where all goes wrong for me and also in windows 10 you have HDMI port until windows login screen is displayed then you need to disconnect and connect it again.

My personal recommendations:

- Do not buy or use the card on a system that does not have rebar

- If you have windows 10 ( only OS I tested ) and HDMI display goes black( loses image ) after windows boots use one of the display ports for display instead.

I see. Yes I started from scratch with a new build of new parts including an Asus Z790 board. You weren't able to return it for a refund?

Didn't plan to get a refund, expected a fix from Intel but things didn't go as i wished and didnt get any solution or workaround. That was the moment i wanted a refund but it was to late.  Fortunately I gave the GPU to my gf and on her system that has rebar works. If you deactivate rebar same issues i had will appear. The windows 10 and HDMI port i reproduced it there on arc 750 and 770 after i updated the bios to latest version on a x570 mb.

Hello, @Xirvis

Thank you for your time.

We noticed that some of the issues you reported may be related to an issue we are working on right now (not the same issue but the root cause may be shared). This impacts Windows 10 and systems without Resizable BAR.

We have a fix in process and should be included in an upcoming driver (should be very soon). However, we still can't support all issues that appear on systems that do not meet the minimum requirements listed here, so our final recommendation is to test the card on a system as noted before.

Please let us know if you have any further inquiries.

Thank you for your response. Please change this if you actually do not support systems without rebar  > https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000092416/graphics.html

Please provide here for future reference the pages where it says that we should not buy the gpu if we do not have rebar ,that you do not offer support to systems without rebar or that the GPU does not work without rebar, i cant find this information online or inside/outside the box of the GPU.

My conundrum is that I replaced arc 770 with nvidia rtx 4070, nvidia developed and uses rebar, i have no issues , why is that?

Also if the case was that i must have REBAR, i would expect from the beginning to be directed to the appropriate resource and given a recommendation to return the card to the seller, no such thing happened in this thread.

Have a great day!

Hello, @Xirvis

Thank you for the feedback provided, however, systems without Resizable Bar are supported, we just recommend it for better performance but there are more minimum requirements apart from Resizable bar support.

In any case, we are still working on this issue and we hope we can release the fix soon.

Since you there are no more inquiries, this thread will no longer be monitored.
