I've been losing my mind for the last three hours and I'm hopeful someone can bail me out.
I bought a new Dell Vostro 3910 desktop i9 (Windows 11) as a gift for my mother. It has a Intel UHD Graphics 770 card. I bought two 27" LG UltraGear gaming monitors. The tower only has 2 video inputs: one Display Port and one HDMI.
No matter what I do, I can't the monitor with the HDMI cable to display at 2560x1440. The only option it gives me is 1920x1080. I have switched the cables and I can get both to display at 2560x1440, but only when each uses the display port (so it's one at a time). So I know each monitor can certainly handle it. I've tried three different HDMI cables, and they have "high speed" stamped on them.
I updated the drivers using the automatic feature, then download the 1.3 gig Intel Graphics Command Center and reinstalled to version 31.0.101.4953, A00, released in January 2024.
When I select "Duplicate the display" in Display settings, it forces the HDMI connected monitor to 2560x1440, but it's blurry.
I have these same two 27" LG UltraGear monitors at my house, and they both display at 2560x1440 when connecting via a Display Port and an HDMI cable - the exact same setup I'm trying to do here.
This PC has been on for less than 10 hours and it's running Windows 11. I've tried three options for refresh rate (60, 59.94, and 50) and that doesn't help either.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello DT80,
Thank you for posting in our communities.
In order for me to provide any recommendation to address our issue, kindly provide the following information:
1. May I have the make and model of the HDMI that you are using?
2. To confirm, only the HDMI is unable to use the 2560x1440? Is that correct?
3. Please generate an SSU report to help me further analyze your system specifications and configurations. To generate the SSU report, please refer to the article: How to Get the Intel® System Support Utility Logs on Windows. Please send me the generated SSU.txt file.
Best regards,
Carmona A.

As such, I'm unable to generate the SSU output you requested (yet). I plan to do so whenever I can travel there again.
Regarding the model of the HDMI cable, they are unbranded. As I shared, I tried three different cables. Two were what came by default with the monitors and were brand new. The third a took from another device because it had "high speed" stamped on the cable plug.
Only when using the HDMI cables do the monitors not work. Both display at 2560x1440 when using the DisplayPort cables. I have these same two monitors at my own house and their fine with either an HDMI or DP cable.
Please do not default close the thread because it's very much unresolved. Thank you.

Hello DT80;
It seems that there's nothing that we can do in here, as based on @MUC's investigation, your laptop's HDMI resolution is only capable of 1920 x 1200.
I will now proceed with closing our case today. If in case in the future you might need our assistance again, please submit a new question on our community. https://community.intel.com/, as our thread will no longer be monitored.
By the way, thank you for helping us. @MUC
Best regards,
Carmona A.
