I can't install intel HAXM

I installed Android Studio and I had no problems with that. However, when I tried to run the emulator, it said that Intel HAXM was not installed.

So I found the installer, ran it, and it even though it said my laptop supports it, that it was not enabled. I went, enabled the Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x), but I still got the same message.

I hear something about Hyper-V needs to be disabled, but when I go to Turn Windows features on/off, I cannot find it on that list.

Can someone help me with this?

Thank you for posting in the Intel Communities. We see that when you use the Android Studio emulator, you receive an error message that Intel HAXM was not installed.

 

To better assist you on this matter, we would like to request the following information:

  • Could you provide a screenshot of the error message you received when running the emulator software?
  • Have you consulted with the app developer for support?
  • You mentioned that you tried to install the HAXM. Could you share with us the website where you found the installer file?
  • We would like to have more information about your system. We would like to request you to share a system report using the Intel System Support Utility (Intel SSU):
    • Open the application and click "Scan" to see the system and device information. By default, Intel SSU will take you to the "Summary View."
    • Click on the menu where it says: "Summary" to change it to "Detailed View."
    • To save your scan: click "Next"; then "Save."
