Thank you for contacting Intel Customer Support regarding the performance issues you're experiencing with your Intel Arc B580 graphics card in Dead by Daylight.

I understand how challenging this must be, first dealing with crashes and now experiencing slow motion gameplay despite maintaining high FPS. Let me help you troubleshoot this issue systematically.

First, please ensure you're running the latest Intel Arc graphics driver:

Latest Driver Version: 32.0.101.8132

Download Link: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-graphics-windows.html

I recommend performing a clean driver installation using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) follow the steps here:  How to Use the Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to Uninstall a...

  1. Download DDU from: https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
  2. Boot into Safe Mode
  3. Run DDU to completely remove current Arc drivers
  4. Restart in normal mode
  5. Install the latest driver version 32.0.101.8132

To better understand your slow-motion issue, could you please:

  1. Provide CapFrameX performance data while experiencing the slow motion effect for atleast 5 minutes of gameplay.
  2. Follow the detailed instructions in this link for comprehensive system information: https://community.intel.com/t5/Intel-ARC-Graphics/Need-help-Reporting-a-bug-or-issue-with-Arc-GPU-P…

Additional Questions:

  • Have you tried the latest driver version 32.0.101.8132?
  • Does this slow motion effect occur in other games or only Dead by Daylight?
  • What are your system specifications (CPU, RAM, motherboard)?

Given the complexity of this performance issue, I'd like to offer you a phone consultation for faster communication and real-time troubleshooting. This would allow us to work through diagnostic steps more efficiently and potentially resolve the slow motion gameplay issue quickly.

Driver and Installation
I am currently using the latest driver, 32.0.101.8132 WHQL (recommended). The installation was done cleanly, following the step-by-step instructions with DDU in safe mode.

Game Information
The game is Dead by Daylight (Steam). It maintains over 150 FPS and should run with excellent performance. I have seen reviews, gameplay videos, and livestreams using the same hardware running this game perfectly — but that is not the case for me.

Issue Description
Before this error, I experienced constant crashes. The crashes seem to have been resolved, possibly by the driver update mentioned above. However, there is now a bug that makes the entire game run in slow motion.

Even in the lobby, you can notice a delay in the animations and HUD. For testing, try playing a killer that requires activating an ability (e.g., Leatherface/Bubba, Wraith). You will see that the ability’s charge bar skips or jumps.

This problem never occurred with my previous GPU (GTX 1650). The Intel Arc B580 was intended as an upgrade. I uninstalled all previous drivers before installing the new GPU drivers.

Supporting Data
I have provided:

  • A video of a survivor match

  • Analysis of killer gameplay, since playing survivor in this state could have led to a penalty from Behaviour

  • CapFrameX data while playing killer to highlight the slowdown

  • A clip of gameplay before switching GPUs for comparison

Other Information
All other games I tested run perfectly on ultra with XeSS.

Phone Support
I would like to know how phone support works, as I do not speak English and I believe it would not help me much.

The driver I'm currently using is the latest, 32.0.101.8132 WHQL recommended. The installation method was clean and followed step by step using DDU in safe mode. The game is Dead by Daylight (Steam). The game maintains over 150 FPS and, in principle, should be running with excellent performance. I've seen reviews, gameplay videos, and live streams using the same hardware with this game running with excellent performance—which wasn't the case for me. As I mentioned to support earlier, before the error I'm about to report, I was experiencing constant crashes. In addition to the crashes, there was also this bug. The crashes were resolved somehow, perhaps due to an update to the driver that already had its WHQL version (32.0.101.8132). But now there's a bug that causes the entire game to run in slow motion. Even while in the lobby, you may already notice a delay in the game's animations and HUD (something slow and sluggish that might be conflicting with the game itself?). To test this, try playing as a killer that requires an ability to be activated (Leatherface/Bubba, Wraith, etc.). You'll notice that the ability's charging bar is skipping progress. I can't quite explain it, as it's something "complex" that never happened before when I was using my previous GPU (GTX 1650). The Intel Arc B580 was supposed to be an upgrade. Yes, I uninstalled the previous drivers before installing the new GPU drivers. Below, I'll provide some data to better understand the issue, including a video recording of a Survivor match and the rest of the analysis of the killer's gameplay. I switched to killer gameplay because if I had continued playing Survivor in that state, I could have received a behavior penalty. I also enabled CapFrameX while playing as the killer because, in my opinion, the slowdown is more noticeable there. I've also included a gameplay clip from before I switched GPUs, so you can see the difference in fluidity compared to the new card. I really hope they can fix this, because I'm desperate for this game to run as smoothly as before. All the other games I've tested run perfectly on Ultra with XeSS. As for phone support, I'd like to know how it works, as I don't speak English and I don't think it would be much help.

Hello Rodrigo,

Thank you for providing such detailed information about the slow-motion issue you're experiencing with Dead by Daylight on your Intel Arc B580. I completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially after upgrading from your GTX 1650 with the expectation of better performance.

I appreciate that you've already performed a clean driver installation using DDU and confirmed you're running the latest driver version 32.0.101.8132 WHQL. The fact that you're maintaining 150+ FPS while experiencing slow motion gameplay is indeed unusual and requires further investigation.

Your detailed description of the issue - including the lobby animation delays, ability charge bar skipping with characters like Leatherface/Bubba and Wraith, and the CapFrameX data you've provided will be extremely valuable for our technical analysis.

Regarding phone support, I understand your concern about the language barrier. We can continue working through this forum where translation tools can assist, and this also allows us to maintain a detailed record of our troubleshooting steps.

I'm currently reviewing your case internally with our engineering team to analyze the performance data and video evidence you've provided. I will get back to you as soon as I have more information or additional troubleshooting steps to try.

Thank you for your patience, and I'll update you soon with our findings.

Best regards,

Hi good evening, now I'm having problems with COD Warzone, the FPS is extremely low and I also have crashes in it, now in the matter of Dead by Daylight, the crashes stopped, but I can't play it using Xess otherwise the game crashes, another reason for crash that I've been having in some games that require the GPU like the aforementioned Warzone, Dead by Daylight, etc... is the rebar, I'm having to disable the rebar to play the games with performance reduced by 15%. Changing the subject, I also noticed that I can't use two monitors, and as if the card doesn't recognize the second monitor, that is, either I connect an HDMI monitor or I connect the DP, because only one of them works, and I also have a suggestion! add a function to change the resolution and create custom resolutions natively in the Intel Graphcs GPU software, in addition to adding native options where the user can choose between "performance or quality" presets for players who use the card both for competitive play and for work, and finally I noticed that in relation to competitors with the same CPU as mine (Ryzen 5 5600) CS2 is on average at high at 300 fps while with the B580 with a preset at low I get in the range of 100 fps, it would be good to work on these games on this processor to have an edge of how the situation is.

Hello Rodrigo,

Thank you for your patience while I investigated the slow motion issue you're experiencing with Dead by Daylight on your Intel Arc B580. I appreciate the comprehensive testing you've done and the detailed evidence you provided, including the CapFrameX data and video footage.

After investigating the issue, I have some important findings to share with you.

The slow motion behavior you're experiencing appears to be related to shader compilation by the game engine. As the shader cache builds up over time, the game should experience smoother performance. However, this issue may recur following driver or game updates when the shader cache is typically cleared.

My investigation also found that this issue is linked to a recent update of the Dead by Daylight game engine, which explains why you didn't experience this problem with your previous GTX 1650. Other players in the community are reporting similar issues:

https://steamcommunity.com/app/381210/discussions/0/4765459117307871495/

Since this appears to be a game engine optimization issue, I recommend contacting Behaviour Interactive (the Dead by Daylight developer) for further assistance and optimization suggestions. They will be in the best position to address game engine-related performance issues.

For the other issues you mentioned (RGB control problems with your Maxsun iCraft variant), please create separate support threads as I can only address one issue per thread to ensure proper tracking and resolution.

I'll be closing this thread as the investigation has determined this is a game engine issue requiring developer attention rather than a driver-related problem.
