Intel ARC A380 Low Profile Unstable FPS on CSGO2 / CS2

Hello,

As the subject tells, i have issues with my ASrock Intel ARC A380 LP.

Here's my system :

Ryzen 5 4600G (Gen 3 PCIE)

ASrock B450m HDV R.4 (Gen 3 PCIE)

16GB DDR4

SSD NVME Gen 3.0

ASrock Intel ARC A380 LP

The issue starts whenever i play CSGO, even when in 5 vs 5 (10 Players) the FPS ranging from 40 - 100 on low settings 1080p.

The issue will get worse as the numbers of the players increased especially in casual deathmatch/bomb mission with in total 16 players with fps ranging from 30 - 85.

I've even tried Lowest setting in 800x400 resolution and the issues is kind of the same.

I've checked using intel telemetry overlay, the usage of GPU and CPU is not at it's max ranging from 40 - 85%, but most of the time it's 60% even when the FPS drops to 30-40.

What i've tried :

Enabling REBAR (i've enabled it even when the game has not installed)

Reinstall the CSGO2

Using latest driver

Uninstalling AMD iGPU Drivers using DDU

Installing B450m chipset driver from ASrock

Undo the OC using Intel ARC software

Updating BIOS but I immediately undoing it because the system BIOS would not display with ARC A380 installed right after I updated my BIOS to ASrock B450m HDV 10.10 version.

I don't know what's going on with this issue, is it because I did run the game through Gen 3.0 PCIe? or is it valve's optimization?

I also play GTA5 Online but doesn't seems to find the similar issue.

Also I've checked CSGO2 gameplay in youtube with A380, it seems they doesn't get through the same issue as me.

I'm hoping some advance for this issue, any inputs are welcomed.

Hello andreas282,

It is all good with me as I know that you only want a solution for issue with the game CSGO2 / CS2. Testing it with other GPU is indeed a good way to isolate the issue. If you want us to continue with the investigation , feel free to share with us your SSU logs so we can check for possible errors and make sure that there are no issues with your Arc 380 graphics card.

UPDATE :

I've tried clean uninstall using DDU in Safemode, and reinstalled the .5382 WHQL, then right after the restart, I was surprised the GPU gave me 80 - 100+ FPS in full room match (16 players) dust map. BUT, suddenly like after 3-5 minutes the FPS dropped and back to previous state with only 40 - 60ish FPS. Now I'm going roll back the driver to .5333 WHQL.

It's kind of disappointing, but at least I know this GPU is should be capable of 100+ FPS in full room.

Any inputs will be so appreciated!

UPDATE :

I've tried

1. I updated my bios to the p10.10 version, though the bios won't display but certainly can boot to Windows with no problems. To enable Rebar I use iGPU to display the bios since my bios won't let me have a display with ARC on the board.

2. Clean install ALL Intel ARC's available drivers, but that can't seems to fix the issue in CS2. Still low FPS and quite volatile in every drivers. Again, this isn't went the same with people in Youtube with roughly same system and in game settings as me. His specification was Ryzen 5 5600, PCIe Gen 3 mobo B450 chipset, 16GB DDR4 and low settings with FSR disabled in 1080p resolution with .5084 version driver. So, I don't think my Ryzen holding ARC back.

3. Funny thing is, when I had Rebar disabled and tried to run the CS2, it was weird enough that the FPS has no difference with Rebar enabled.. What is wrong with this? I thought it would went down the hill.

4. I'm a bit depressed right now since I thought i've done all I can also with all the knowledge I know lmao help

Hello,

Do anyone have any idea what's going on here??

Does my Ryzen 5 4600G is really the bottleneck of this system or something?

By the way, while doing some digging I found this thread with similar issue also with Zen 2 Ryzen CPU.

https://community.intel.com/t5/Graphics/Intel-ARC-A750-low-performance-GPU-usage-with-Ryzen-3600/m-p/1465660

From reading the thread, I learned that since the OP changed the CPU to Zen 3 the issue is no longer exists. The big note from that thread is, with Zen 2 and rebar disabled the performance was getting better, which i feel quite the same when I disabled the rebar as what I've stated on my prior reply.

Dear Intel team,

So, is this still an issue or the issue have been patched through the newer driver update? Since the thread was quite some time ago. Do you guys have succesfully reproduce the issue that OP having?

Update :

I've tried

1. Changing CPU to AMD Zen 3 (Ryzen 5 5500)

Which turns out having the same result as in CS2.

2. Testing CS2 on my old system

High settings

Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2 4 Cores 8 Threads Ivy Bridge

Asus RX 470 4GB

8gb DDR3 RAM

The FPS was stable, and hitting 80-110 FPS most of the time even in the crowded match.

Guess I'm gonna let this ARC GPU go from my new system

Hello andreas282,

Thank you for posting in the communities and I would like to apologize that it took me some time to respond. Let me make it up to you. We have received this report before about the Game CSGO however, the new driver should have been able to fixed this issue. Seeing that the issue still occurs, I want to gather some details so we can take a further look in to this concern with the Game CSGO. Kindly please send us your SSU logs so we can check for possible errors and be more familiar with your configuration. Also, were you able to play this game before without issues? if you do, please let us know what changes you have made before the issue occurred. Additionally, it seems the B450M-HDV R4.0 motherboard has 1 Gen 3 PCIE and 1 Gen 2 PCIE, were you able to check if the GPU was inserted to the correct Gen 3 PCIE slot? I will be waiting for your reply.

Hello Ramyer,

Thank you for the reply.

Sorry for the whining and panic that I have give in the thread.

After more trial, I think the problem was my Ryzen 5 4600G or maybe AMD CPUs in general, since i've tried with another GPU which was RX 5600 XT, and the problem still persists on this system.

When I use MSI Afterburner overlay, it shows that from 12 threads, 4 of them are always 100%, and it never goes down. Thus, the GPU usage never reached 100%. This resemble the issue when I use ARC A380 on my system.

Hence, I think the issue came from the AMD CPUs and their compability with windows 11 or maybe the optimization with CS2 itself.

For the PCIE, from GPU-Z it shows the ARC A380 was running on PCIE  gen 3.0.

For the SSU, I will send it ASAP when i'm able to use my computer with ARC A380 installed on the system.

Thank you!

Hello Ramyer,

I think I will close the thread as the issue was already gone as I downgraded my Windows to Windows 10. Downgrading the Windows to Windows 10 fixed the issue. I can assure it was not the ARC A380 that on fault, as any other GPUs did the same thing, and also I've tried CS2 again with ARC A380 after downgraded to Windows 10, and yes the issue was gone and ARC A380 got utilized more, thus resulting in more FPS and more stable performance with ARC A380.

Thank you
