Hi,
i run Intel ARC A770 on B450 Gaming X w/Ryzen 5 5600X CPU w/32Gb DDR4.
I have experienced some weird things in the past weeks/months.
Suddenly the screen became scramble and went black while web browsing.
This happened multiple times to me.
After restart there was no video output.
I had to entirely power down the machine and repower it.
Also in Games (Kingdom Come Deliverance, Stalker 2) parts of the enviroment become sometimes Black and Flickering, Water for example.
Or Picture is shortly flickering
is this a driver issue or a Hardware issue ?
i'm running latest driver 6632
Is there a ARC Diagnostic Software ?
VRAM Memory Test etc ?
Thank you!

Hi, matze7912,
Thank you for posting in our Community and for providing the detailed information about the issues you're encountering with your Intel ARC A770. Based on your description, it seems that the problem could potentially be related to either a driver issue or hardware-related problems. To help determine the root cause, kindly provide the following details:
- Have you tried performing a clean installation of the graphics driver using a tool like Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU)?
- Are you using the latest version of Intel Graphics Software (formerly Arc Control) for diagnostics and settings adjustments?
- Does the issue only happen in certain games, or does it occur in multiple applications, such as browsers or other 3D applications?
- Do the screen scrambling and blackouts occur only during specific activities, like web browsing or gaming, or are they random?
- Have you noticed any patterns or specific triggers that cause the flickering or black parts in games
- Have you used any VRAM memory test tools or other diagnostic software to check the health of your GPU?
Additionally, I'd like to delve deeper and verify specifics like the graphics models, precise driver versions, and any system errors. Utilizing the Intel SSU tool will enable us to collect detailed information about your system setup, which could aid in identifying the underlying cause of this issue. To ensure your privacy and security, I recommend not sharing the Intel SSU logs on public forums, as they contain sensitive information about your system. Instead, please send the SSU logs to me via email. Once I receive the logs, I'll be able to further investigate the issue and assist you more effectively. After that, we can continue our communication in the community forum if needed.
Have a nice day!
Best regards,

Hi,
i pumped up the Driver Version today with the "Clean Install Check Button"
Now running 6647 Driver.
3DMark with Steel Nomads Bench loops without any Problems, also Vulkan Memory Test works just fine.
Crashes occur randomly while Web Browsing, i use Firefox.
Sometimes it works for few days just fine, then i get a sudden crash.
I now switched from HDMI to Displayport to HDMI Adapter to rule that out.
Scrambling looks like digital artifacts, so i thought this will be a good idea.
The randomness makes it hard to catch a screenshot.
This never happens with my old GPU ( 1060 GTX 3Gb also tested a 1060 GTX 6Gb).
For the games, i also played The Last of Us which had some issues.
But as far as i read this is a known problem with the game (curtains and shadow glitch)
i try to make some screenshot on the weekend, i need time to get into situations where this will happen.
In the Game Stalker 2 this mostly happens if travel trough wide open areas, suddenly a part of landscape becomes black.
In Kingdom Come cutscenes could went black and stay black and only the hud is visible.
i now installed dxvk to get it almost running fine without the issue.
Thank you very much

Hello, matze7912.
It’s great to hear that you’ve updated the driver to version 6647 and that certain tests like the 3DMark and Vulkan Memory Test are working fine. From your description, it appears that the issue is primarily related to random crashes while web browsing, along with some graphical artifacts and specific in-game issues. I look forward to receiving the screenshots showing the issue, if possible.
To further investigate, I would like to dive deeper into the SSU reports to confirm details such as the graphics model, exact driver versions, and any system errors. Using the Intel SSU tool will help us gather more precise information about your system setup, which could be key in identifying the root cause of this problem. For your privacy and security, I advise against sharing the Intel SSU logs on public forums, as they contain sensitive system information. Please send the logs directly to me via email. Once I have the logs, I’ll be able to investigate the issue further and provide more targeted assistance. If needed, we can continue the discussion in the community forum afterwards.

Hello, matze7912.
The BSOD related to igdkmdnd64.sys implies a potential issue with the Intel graphics driver. Regarding the SSU report, I haven’t received an email containing it. To ensure we have the necessary information, I have sent you an email. Kindly check your SPAM folder in case it was filtered there.
Once I receive the logs, I can investigate the issue further and offer more specific assistance.

Hello,
i spotted something weird, on the 5gen Ryzen the Driver says 15,875 GB VRAM and on the 7800X3D it always shows 16Gb in the Intel Graphics Software.
Best regards,
Matze

Hello, matze7912.
After reviewing the dump files, it appears that the issue may be related to the graphics card. To further diagnose the problem, I recommend updating your BIOS to version F67d, as your current version (F66) is outdated. Please let me know once you’ve completed the update and whether the issue persists.
Additionally, I’d like to confirm:
- Is your computer operating correctly aside from this issue?
- When did the issue first occur?
If the problem continues, it could indicate a hardware issue, especially given the multiple concerns you've encountered. Could you also confirm whether your graphics card is an Intel Branded Card (IBC) or an AIC (Add-in Card) from an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)?
Please let me know the results after updating the BIOS and the details of your graphics card so we can proceed accordingly.
Best regards,
Von M.

Hi,
the Problem is with the B450 Gaming X Mainboard
Remove Ryzen 5000 CPU, and install 3600 CPU -> works with Rebar enabled absolute Stable, move Ryzen 5000 CPU back in -> crashes
Ryzen 5500/5600 works fine in other Mainboard with ARC Card, with Rebar enabled.
It also shows 16GB VRAM there, where B450 Gaming X only shows 15,875 GB of VRAM.
Also works fine in 7800X3D on B650 Chipset.
I asume there is some incompatiblity on this specific Mainboard and Ryzen 5000 CPU..
RTX 3060 + Ryzen 5000 CPU is also unstable, works fine with Ryzen 3600 CPU.
Thanks anyway,
Problem is solved now.
