I've been trying to play Life is Strange: True Colors, both default startup option and DirectX 12. I am very surprised and dissapointed that it only works decently with the lowest graphics quality possible. Otherwise, there's low frame rate and the game crashes.
My game settings:
- Screen Resolution is set to 1280x720. I cannot change it, there's no arrow buttons as in the other options. My monitor is compatible for 1920x1080.
- Display Mode is set to Fullscreen. If I change it, the game crashes. A pop-up window says "The UE4-Siren Game has crashed and will... Fatal Error!"
- Graphics Quality is set to Low.
- Maximum Frame Rate and Ray Tracing is adjustable.
Here's a list of things I've tried that didn't fix the issue:
- Changed into cinematic graphic settings and set the Shadow Quality to Low, to see if that was the problem. I heard it might solve the issue in other games. The FPS didn't catch up with the audio at all and textures had a really hard time loading.
- Applied default settings
- Verified game files in Steam
- Reinstalled the game
- Temporarily removed the preferences files with backup, manually
- Restarted the computer
- Reinstalled graphic drivers
I did a clean install of Windows when building this PC. It's completely new - I recieved the parts in January of 2025. Do you know the source of the problem? Can I do anything to fix this?

Hi Flic,
Thank you for posting on the communities!
I'm sorry to learn that you are experiencing issues with your system. To better assist you and determine the most appropriate resolution, could you please provide the needed details listed below:
- May I know if the game if working fine before?
- What graphics version you're using that's encountering this issue?
- When installing the latest GPU drivers, did you perform DDU first before installing?
Kindly run this on your system so that I can gauge the following peripherals and the driver versions that you have: Intel® System Support Utility for Windows*
Once finished downloading, open the tool, click on scan (leave the default items checked), click next, then save the system information to a .txt file. Please provide us the .txt file.
Best regards,
Earl E.

Hello! Thanks for your response!
I found the problem after scanning the PC with the tool you linked. The built-in GPU in the CPU was taking priority. After I disabled that in the device manager, the game ran flawlessly on the Arc B580

Hello Flic,
It's great to hear that you've resolved the issue by disabling the onboard graphics, and that the Intel® Arc™ B580 is performing well with your game. With this confirmation, I will proceed to close this case. If you require further assistance in the future, please feel free to submit a new inquiry, as this thread will no longer be active.
Sincerely,
