Intel Arc B580 Pixel Errors

Hello Intel, hello Intel Community,

I purchased an Intel Arc B580 LE, which arrived on 10 April 2025. The pure benchmark performance combined with my Intel i7-12700 and 32 GB DDR4 RAM is good as expected (~14,768 points in 3DMark TimeSpy), the gaming performance is mixed, accompanied by occasional bugs in DX11 applications (in Battlefield 5 the ground was missing at times, DX12 runs without problems). The performance in Hunt: Showdown is very mixed, but playable (1080p, medium, 1% low around 70 fps), I haven't had any crashes so far. However, I had expected these kinds of hurdles due to Intel's new position in the dGPU market.

* Monitor MSI Optix MAG301RF (most recent firmware)

# Issue
It happens from time to time that I have a slight pixel errors? (pink, green, grey flashing pixels) on my monitor. This is particularly noticeable in the Windows Startmenu, but I haven't noticed it in full-screen applications so far (I can provide a recording). The problem occurs regardless which Monitor. The problem occurs regardless of whether I connect the monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort, no matter the cable. The problem occurs with both the latest WHQL and the previous WHQL version of the driver. The problem is not visible when I take a screen recording, but seems to be related to the communication between the graphics card and the monitor. The problem does not occur with the Intel HD onboard graphics.

# Background
My question mainly boils down to wanting to rule out a problem/defect with my Intel Arc B580. Otherwise I would have to contact the seller and get it replaced.

# Steps tried
* Made sure that ReBar is enabled
* Tried all DisplayPort connections, as well as HDMI of the Intel Arc B580
* Tried two different DisplayPort cables and two different HDMI cables
* Uninstalled the drivers, cleaned up with DDU in safe mode and reinstalled
* Tried three iterations of WHQL certified drivers from Intel (32.0.101.6651, 32.0.101.6734 and now 32.0.101.6737)
* Monitor in different Hz settings (120 Hz, 144 Hz)
* Different Monitor MSI Optix MAG301RF (200 Hz)
* Different PCIe 8 pin connection on my power supply
* Different 8 pin power cable

UPDATE: Tried disabling Windows 11 Hardware Acceleration: Did not solve the issue.

Thank you for posting in our Community and for your detailed and structured report. You've already taken comprehensive troubleshooting steps, driver rollback, cable/port permutations, refresh rate tuning, and system-level isolation with iGPU vs dGPU, which significantly narrows the problem space. It points toward a possible signal integrity issue or hardware-level defect within the Arc B580's output subsystem, likely within its display output pipeline. These types of errors are usually symptomatic of, VRAM instability or defective memory modules on the GPU, Voltage irregularities from the power delivery network on the GPU board or Signal integrity degradation on the output drivers.


Have you attempted to reseat the graphics card into a different PCIe slot, and have you verified whether the pixel anomalies are present within the system BIOS environment?

Hi Von M,

Thank you for your answer. I will have a look this evening (UTC +2.00) to see if these artifacts also occur in the slower PCIe slot or the uefi bios. I also have the option to borrow an Arc GPU from a colleague. I'll just use that as a test sample and switch the cards to see if the problem still occurs. If it is a hardware defect on the graphics card output, the artifacting should disappear. I'll let you know.

Testing the card in a different PCIe slot and checking for artifacts in the UEFI BIOS are excellent steps to help isolate whether this is a hardware or software-related issue.
