I am using an Acer Swift SFX16-52G laptop with an Intel Arc graphics card (Intel Arc A370M). Unfortunately, in this laptop, the fan behaviour cannot be controlled easily. This is unfortunate as the fan is setting in at 40°C dGPU temperature already, which makes the machine unnecessarily loud to me taste.
As the fan behaviour is coupled to the GPU temperature and the laptop, it would make sense if the fan speed could be controlled using the Intel Arc software. I have seen that Intel is adding very nice way to control the fans of their graphics cards to the Intel Arc Control software (e. g. here).
Therefore, I wanted to ask if the fan control is also planned for laptops using mobile Arc graphics cards. I think, this could greatly improve my experience with Intel Arc (together with fixing the sleep mode issue). So far, I haven’t found any software that was able to read out and modify the fan speed in my laptop, and it would be really nice to have an official solution to this.

Hello FlyingFireTree,
Unfortunately, the Intel® Arc™ A-Series Mobile Graphics does not have a fan feature within the Intel Arc Control settings or the performance telemetry. The reason for this is that Arc™ A-Series Mobile Graphics is a chip integrated into the system. The cooling system of the graphics adapter is provided by the manufacturer of the system as this is normally integrated into mobile systems like laptops.
Best regards,

Hello FlyingFireTree,
Since we have not heard back from you, we will proceed to look into this further. As we mentioned, there is no fan feature within the Intel Arc Control settings with the Intel Arc A-series mobile graphics. Remember that the e-cooling system is provided by the manufacturer.
If you need any additional info, please open a new thread, as this one will no longer be monitored
Best regards,
Jean O.
