Intel's New Graphics Software Falls Short

Intel's new graphics software is not good enough for me. I've been watching for an update since it was first released, but there has been no update. Personally, I use the old ARC Control Panel instead of the new version.

Shortcomings of Intel Graphics Software:

No screen recording feature.
No camera features.
The most important one for me: The highlights section is missing.
No in-game FPS indicator.
No Intel rangefinder during gameplay.
No ability to save the last 20 seconds.
Profile options are very limited.
I know, third-party apps like OBS can be used for screen recording. However, I would have liked to see these features directly in the Intel software. The settings for the game are quite inadequate and incomplete compared to Nvidia and AMD.

I don't think there will be an update for this, but I wanted to share my thoughts anyway.

Now that I think about it, there are not even anti-aliasing settings.

Honestly just went to use the screen record feature and found it is missing now !!

Such a poor buggy driver at least the last one with a clean install gave me back

some stability. This will be my last intel ARC graphics card. As soon as they brought

out the new cards they Appled the older cards (last 3 drivers) which has resulted in noticable

performance lags. SO very disappointed with Intel. You had one chance and you

went full Apple. I will wait for the 5090's to come out and stop mucking with this

bookend.

Hello Lowroen,

Thank you for posting in Intel community Forum.

For me to further check this, please help provide the following details:

  1. What is the model of your Graphics controller?
  2. You are still using the Arc Control because of those features?
  3. Would you like to see those changes soon? Can you add more information about for me to forward this to the proper team?

If you have questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Subject: Feedback and Suggestions for Intel Arc Control & Intel Graphics Software

Hello Mike_Intel,

I don't really believe that my feedback will lead to changes, but I still want to share my thoughts.

1. I own an Intel Arc A750 GPU.

2. I mainly use Arc Control for Highlights recording and Intel Performance Telemetry (an FPS overlay would be even better).

3. I would love to see new updates, so here are my suggestions.

First of all:

1. The name "Intel Graphics Software" is, in my opinion, a bad choice. The previous name, "Intel Arc Control Panel," was much better.

2. The saturation adjustment in the Intel Graphics Command Center (available via the Microsoft Store) is different from the one in Intel Graphics Software. The one in the Command Center is better.

3. The video settings section in the Intel Graphics Command Center should be integrated into Intel Graphics Software.

4. Resolution and refresh rate settings should be available in the Display section of Intel Graphics Software.

5. Previously, right-clicking on the desktop provided quick access to Arc Control Panel. This feature is now missing and should be brought back.

6. Recording features should return! Features like Broadcast, Highlights, Camera (including background removal effects), and the ability to record the last 20 seconds of gameplay (like NVIDIA’s ShadowPlay) should be restored. Screenshots taken with Intel should also be stored within Intel’s software.

7. Microphone settings should include features like noise reduction.

8. In-game settings similar to AMD and NVIDIA should be added. For example, I should be able to adjust anti-aliasing settings (MSAA, SMAA, etc.) directly through Intel's software. Also, settings for texture quality, sharpness, and detail quality (like image clarity, sharpness, and quality of textures) should be available. These are just examples—users want even more customization options.

9. Performance monitoring features like FPS display, CPU/GPU usage, and fan speed adjustments should be available. I saw AMD Radeon settings and found them useful. Intel PresentMon should be integrated into Intel Graphics Software.

10. Game library tracking: It would be great if the software could track games like Red Dead Redemption 2, showing details such as installation time, playtime, and average FPS performance (similar to AMD Radeon).

11. Game-specific color settings should be available. Features similar to AFMF (AMD Fluid Motion Frames) or other technological enhancements would be highly beneficial.

12. Bug reporting & diagnostics: Instead of asking users to use external tools like CapFrameX for FPS issues and SSU (System Support Utility) for system info, these should be integrated into Intel Graphics Software.

Additional Issues:

  • When adjusting color depth in Intel Graphics Software, the application crashes. After the crash, performance settings won’t open until the PC is restarted—this is a serious issue.

  • Low Latency Mode is not working properly. I don’t know the reason, but since I mainly use Arc Control Panel, it’s not a big problem for me.

That’s all for now. I’d appreciate it if you could keep me updated on any developments.

I hope my suggestions are taken into consideration and implemented.

Best regards.

By the way, the FPS limiter works sometimes, but other times it doesn’t work at all. I just wanted to bring this to your attention.

Hello Lowroen,

I hope you are having a good day.

First of all, we want to thank you for the feedback regarding the 12 items you shared on IGS.

As for the issues that you shared, we are aware of this in Windows 10 and I already forwarded your feedback to our management however we don't have any ETA on the approval process and even the feedback.

Thank you and have a great day.

Hey Michael,

Thanks for the quick reply.

It’s good to know you’re aware of the issues, but honestly, I was hoping to hear about a solution process or at least an estimated timeline. I’ve been keeping a close eye on the software, and these missing features are starting to get a bit frustrating. I’d really appreciate it if you could keep me updated on any progress.

Thanks again, and have a great day!

Hello Lowroen,

Thank you for the update.

Thank you for understanding. For updates like this, usually there is no ETA since some of the issue may need time during the testing stage.

Just keep checking if there is a latest update and you may look at the release notes for the fixes and updates of the drivers and and IGS software.

Thank you and have a great day.
