Is Intel Arc B580 eGPU compatible with GPD Win Mini (AMD 8840U via USB4)?

Hello,
I would like to know whether it is technically feasible to connect the Intel Arc B580 as an external GPU to the GPD Win Mini, which uses the AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor and includes a USB4 port. I am particularly concerned about two things:

1. Whether the connection through a GPU dock (eGPU enclosure) via USB4 is supported and functional.

2. Whether the Intel Arc B580 is compatible with the AMD 8840U platform in terms of drivers and general operation.
If anyone has experience with a similar setup or can confirm compatibility, I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thank you!

Hi @Steveflyy,

Intel Arc GPUs, including the B580, are generally compatible with AMD Ryzen processors. However, performance can vary based on the specific CPU and system configuration. Intel recommends using newer generation CPUs for optimal performance, as older CPUs may experience some overhead issues. For more details, please refer to the Intel® Arc™ Graphics – Desktop Quick Start Guide

Additionally, it is advisable to consult with your system or motherboard manufacturer to obtain comprehensive information on the feasibility of this setup on your device. This involves several considerations for optimization and achieving the best performance.
