Monitor not displaying 144HZ only 120HZ

I have:

144HZ monitor: MSI G24C2

2.1 HDMI cable

Display GPU of laptop: Intel(R) HD Graphics 530

Other non display GPU: GTX 950M

CPU:  Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-63000HQ CPU @2.30GHz

I connect my Laptop to monitor

This is a Skylake platform that has HDMI 1.4 as standard. The refresh rate of 144 Hz is not possible with the available bandwidth.
