Bug Report: Performance Issue After Installing New Intel Arc B580 Graphics Driver in Path of Exile 2
Description: After installing the latest graphics driver for the Intel Arc B580 GPU, performance in Path of Exile 2 has worsened significantly, with FPS dropping to 20-25 when mobs appear on screen during map runs. This issue makes the game even more unplayable than it was before.
System Specs:
- OS: Windows 11 (latest update)
- CPU: Intel i7-8086K
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: NVMe SSD
- GPU: Intel Arc B580
- Graphics Driver: Latest Intel Arc B580 driver
Issue:
- In Path of Exile 2, FPS drops to 20-25 when a couple of mobs appear on the screen during map runs, with GPU utilization between 60-85%. This is lower than expected for such a drop in FPS, and the performance is noticeably worse than before the driver update.
Benchmarking Results:
- Path of Exile 2 (Map Runs - Low Settings, XESS Ultra Performance):
- GPU Utilization: 60-85% (significantly lower than expected given the FPS drop)
Steps to Reproduce:
- Launch Path of Exile 2 on a system with the Intel Arc B580 GPU and the latest driver.
- Enter a map and engage in combat where multiple mobs appear.
- Observe the FPS drop to 20-25 during mob encounters and the underutilization of the GPU (60-85%).
Expected Result: Smooth gameplay with stable FPS (above 60 FPS) during regular gameplay, especially in crowded areas with many mobs.
Actual Result: FPS drops to 20-25 when mobs appear on screen, despite GPU utilization being 60-85%.
Additional Notes:
- The issue is specific to Path of Exile 2 and only started occurring after updating the graphics driver for the Intel Arc B580.
- Performance was previously better before the update, although still not optimal.
- No other major performance issues have been noticed in other games or applications.
Request: Please investigate the compatibility between the new Intel Arc B580 driver and Path of Exile 2, as the driver update is causing significant performance regressions in the game.
