Performance Issues with Intel Arc A770 in Call of Duty Warzone (2025)

Hey Intel Graphics Support,

I'm experiencing significant performance issues in Call of Duty Warzone (2025), specifically in Verdansk and Rebirth Island. In both modes, I’m currently getting just around 100 FPS at native resolution with the lowest settings. Even with XeSS enabled, the maximum I can reach is under 120 FPS.

For your reference, I’ve attached two benchmark results: one for the Arc A770 16GB VRAM and another for the RX 7600 8GB VRAM. Please note that all necessary precautions have been taken. Fresh Windows Install with the Intel Arc A770 (latest run), so there are no legacy driver issues affecting performance.

I’ve also included a System Utility report.

Additionally, I ran a benchmark with the B580 for comparison.

Just as a note: Even though the benchmarks or reports might refer to "MW2," it is actually Warzone (BO6) -> the latest version of Warzone.

I would appreciate more transparency on whether higher performance in Call of Duty Warzone can be expected with the Arc A770, or if the card has already reached its performance plateau in this title. It’s unfortunate, because the image quality on the Arc A770 is noticeably better than on the AMD card.

If you need more data or benchmarks, I’m happy to provide them. I hope there’s a chance to see performance improvements of up to 50 to 60% in this title, similar to what’s possible with the B580.

And yes, I have tried countless settings, but unfortunately, nothing has significantly improved the performance (Rebar is enabled, everything is up and running for maximum performance).

Looking forward to your feedback on possible driver optimizations or future driver improvements.

Thanks for your support.

For your convenience: I have also attached my settings files. You can find and modify these under "Documents" -> "Call of Duty" -> "Players" -> "s.1.0.cod24.txt0" & "s.1.0.cod24.txt1" for the most accurate comparison, in case anyone on your team would like to verify the configuration directly.

Hi bani1o7,

Thank you for reaching out to the Intel Community Forum. To assist us in investigating the issue, please provide the following details:

  • Have you tried setting the scaling type to fixed width under Global settings?
  • Have you tried setting adaptive tessellation to 90% under 3D control?
  • Have you activated the Intel XeSS to ultra quality in-game settings?
  • Does the issue occur only during cutscenes? Or does it also happen during regular gameplay or menus?
  • When did the issue start? Was it after a specific driver update or game patch?
  • Is the Resizable Bar enabled?
  • Have you used DDU to completely remove all residual drivers and installed a new one?
  • Which gaming platform did you use to download the game?

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

Hi ArchieD,

  • Have you tried setting the scaling type to fixed width under Global settings?
Yes, I tried it. Nothing changes for me. The performance is still really poor. For a competitive shooter, I would even say it’s unplayable, because the 1% lows are extremely inconsistent.

  • Have you tried setting adaptive tessellation to 90% under 3D control?
    Yes.

  • Have you activated Intel XeSS to Ultra Quality in the in-game settings?
I tried every XeSS upscaling setting. The only settings where I get "playable" performance (though the average FPS and 1% lows are still quite bad) are XeSS Performance or XeSS Ultra Performance. The bigger problem then is the very soft and "pixelated" look, which, understandably, cannot be fixed at 1080p or 1440p because the upscaling is simply too aggressive.

  • Does the issue occur only during cutscenes, or does it also happen during regular gameplay or menus?
The problems occur during gameplay, which is where it matters most. There are hardly any cutscenes in BO6 or Warzone.

  • When did the issue start? Was it after a specific driver update or game patch?
The problem started with the engine change and improvements introduced with MW3. In MW2, the engine was nowhere near as problematic on Intel Arc as it has been since the switch in 2023. With BO6, the engine was revised again, and since then, performance on Intel Arc Alchemist has become absolutely catastrophic. As described above, not only are the average FPS extremely low, but the 1% lows fluctuate so much that a good gameplay experience is impossible.

    In short:

    • MW2 (2022): Very good and playable experience

    • MW3 (2023): Noticeably worse performance, with some significant issues

    • BO6 (2024): Absolutely unplayable performance and extremely inconsistent frame times. Both MW3 and BO6 suffer from poor 1% lows, but BO6 is by far the worst in this regard.

  • Is Resizable Bar enabled?
Always! I double-checked and even restarted my PC to rule out any issues with Resizable Bar.

  • Have you used DDU to completely remove all residual drivers and installed a new one?
I only install new drivers after running DDU to prevent most problems. Don’t worry, I also let the shader compilation process complete as usual when launching the game for the first time.

  • Which gaming platform did you use to download the game?
I downloaded and tested the game on all platforms (Steam, BattleNet, and Xbox/Microsoft Store) to rule out performance differences. The poor performance occurs on every launcher.

As you can see from my post history, I have already reported numerous issues with the Arc Alchemist series, sometimes years apart. I would simply like to know if the Alchemist series is fundamentally always going to lag behind in competitive games.

In Warzone, performance on the Arc Alchemist dGPUs has been truly unplayable for quite some time.
Can I realistically expect "acceptable performance" to ever be achieved through a driver or game update (for example, if Intel coordinates with Microsoft or the CoD developers)?

Best regards,
bani

Hi bani1o7,

Thank you for the update. I checked your SSU log and saw that your graphics driver is 32.0.101.6876. Please update it to the 32.0.101.6881. I would also like to obtain 3 CapFrameX log to thoroughly analyze the FPS performance. Kindly ensure that the game would run for a minimum of 2 minutes each.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Hello Archie,

Thank you for your response and the suggestions!

I am currently not at home, but I will update the graphics driver to version 32.0.101.6881 and record the 3 CapFrameX logs (running for at least 2 minutes) on Friday. I will upload the results as soon as possible after that.

Please keep the thread open until then.
I really want to make sure we solve this issue together!

Best regards,
bani

Hi Archie,

thank you!

I wanted to let you know that I’ve returned my A770 and no longer have the card in my system. However, I’m still very invested in seeing this issue addressed for all Arc users.

That’s why I’ve created posts on Reddit to encourage others to share their CapframeX logs. I’m actively checking the thread to make sure people post their logs here, and I kindly ask that the thread isn’t closed so we can collect as much feedback as possible.

Also, I don’t believe that the recent update has improved performance, so I only have the last logs from when I still had the A770, specifically from MW3 (2023/2024) and BO6 (2024/2025).

If you need any further information or would like to stay updated on the feedback collected, please let me know.

Best regards
bani
