Q Intel Graphics Software - Profiles what's its function? should we be feeding back on this too?

I posted this a few days ago on the developing games board but its got no love there s o reposting below with some screenshots and updated by adding 4a b c to original post.

I noticed in the software there is profiles for some games. for those who don't know I am talking about this.

I did a search on this form for information about it's function, and since I have been contributing and want to continue to contribute to help the eco system of dArc gpu.

I noticed that team has obviously put time in developing profiles which makes sense for the vast amount of users who don't want to tinker, but a even a search on

does not yield a page for the software that I have found at least.

So here are my questions to either that team who work on that or the mods.

1) Are the profiles which are scanned and added do they pull the best set of settings for a game from a global intel database for specific cards ? (Note to all users the wording implies this "Toggles between global application settings and per application customization settings")

2) Are these profiles rolled out by intel? intel with partners? or game developer only.?

I recently notified a developer via there steam discussions forum that there game appears to work BUT does not have a game profile and maybe they should reach out to intel.

3) I haven't noticed this question being asked by mods in posts

but should we be declaring we using profile enabled settings?

4) Alot of games in my library aren't found or require a profile to be added manually. Is that because found profiles are certified against a intel database? screen shots attached,

A)I am actually surprised some of these titles don't have a profile. Also I noticed Overwatch via steam doesn't have one although I do remember it being a supported title for dx12 when dGPU launched

B) Also I had to do a clean install of IGS app due to a issue that my drivers where actualy newer than the update that IGS had planned to install. AND upon that install it deleted my own added profiles (located .exe). some of which I had capped framerated for power , overheating, and enables profiles so now i need to re add them, can I not have a option during clean install to not delete these?

C) IGS app straight up clashed with steam overwatch 2 boot. giving the message render device lost during start up on a custom added profile. I suspect its misbehaving with anticheat. for just having on fast sync? I disabled that now. TBH the thread is about IGS app not about this OW2 issue.  I may create its own thread if your intrested.

5) should we be saying in our posts whether a game has or has not a profile when scanned? i.e how important is this software intergration with the hardware. AND If its enabled?

From where i stand if people can click a button and play with out all the dreaded rummors that arc isn't mature...but from my one week I had less hassle than i envisaged, I knew i was adopting a new platform  which is young.

My experience thus far on the forum is you do care from a customer service point of view in this forum compared to some I am on...........what can I say gamers can be very toxic.

Thanks

Hi monkiemurdie,

Thank you for reaching out regarding Intel Graphics Software profiles and their function. I'm here to help clarify this feature for you.

Intel Graphics Software profiles allow you to create and manage custom graphics settings for different applications and games. These profiles enable you to optimize performance and visual quality on a per-application basis, ensuring that each program runs with the most suitable graphics configuration for your needs. You can adjust various settings such as resolution, frame rate limits, anti-aliasing, and other graphics options specific to each application.

The profiles feature is designed to enhance your gaming and application experience by automatically applying your preferred settings when you launch specific programs. This eliminates the need to manually adjust graphics settings each time you switch between different applications or games.

Regarding feedback on this feature, Intel values user input and suggestions for improving our software and services. If you have specific feedback, suggestions, or issues related to the profile's functionality, I would be happy to document your input and ensure it reaches the appropriate development teams.

Could you please share what specific aspects of the profiles feature you'd like to provide feedback on, or if you're experiencing any particular issues with this functionality?

For faster communication and assistance, I am available for a phone call. Please let me know a convenient time for you, and I'll ensure we connect promptly to discuss your inquiry further.

Thank you for your interest in Intel Graphics Software, and I look forward to hearing your feedback.
