Starfield crashing frequently on latest driver update

Hi there,

I just updated to the latest driver update 31.0.101.4676, and I am now crashing with even more frequency when playing Starfield.
I can play for about 10 minutes, when it will hard crash and exit the game.

I've also noticed it specifically instantly crashes when trying to land at New Atlantis.

My specs are:
Intel Arc A770 LE 16GB
32GB DDR5 RAM
AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
Windows 11 Home

I want to let you know that in our driver 1.0.101.4672 release notes: Efforts are in progress to further improve overall gaming experience of Starfield* for Intel® Arc™ users in future driver updates.

We already identified instances of game crashing and our developer team is working on it. Please be patient as more updates roll-out.

I want to let you know something related to this issue, as mentioned before, efforts are in progress to further improve overall gaming experience of Starfield for Intel® Arc™ users in future driver updates. We can't commit to any ETA but rest assured that we are working on this under the highest priority.

We always recommend having the graphics driver up to date, we released a new one some days ago, I want to make sure that you have the latest driver version 31.0.101.4826, if you need to install it you can follow the article How to Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 & Windows 11.

Just to let you know that under the current driver iteration A750 performs & crashes worse than an RX550 4GB . Max. 20 FPS on arc (clean install via your recomended method) crashes every 10 minutes. The only setting in which A750 is kind of stable is low everything.
On the other hand RX550 has constant 40 fps with some of the settings on ultra (modified ini which i also tested with A750 with abysmal results) and doesnt crash.
Is worth mentioning that A750 seems to constantly be at 95-100% vram usage.
My system : cpu zen 5600x, 32gb ram, asus prime b350 plus mobo. All drivers, Bios up to date.
I bought the A750 as an upgrade to the RX 550.
It's been 2 weeks now since the latest update targeting Starfield.
How long untill ill be able to use the A750?

Hi Andres P.,

I see that you all at intel are working on this. I just wanted to add that I'm another who has updated the ARC A750 with the 31.0.101.4826 driver, and I'm experiencing crashes every few minutes. I'm playing Starfield with all the graphic options set to low or off. 

Hope intel can help us out. I took a chance with an Intel GPU, and I'm sort of regretting that decision right now. 

Also, after the latest update-- Civilization 4 has light flickering and graphic display issues. This is a new problem.

Thank you for your time and patience.

The game developer released a patch including fixes specifically for Arc Graphics. Along with this, we released a new driver last week with other stability fixes for this title. We recommend updating the game, downloading, and installing driver 31.0.101.4887. This information was provided to Vampurrr via email some days ago.

@SteveJ related to the Civilization 4 issue, please open a new thread and we will be more than glad to help you.
