VRAM Leak Issue with Intel Arc B580 GPU in "Broken Arrow" Game

Good day! I found absolutely identical problems in the game Broken Arrow with a video memory leak on the forum. The recommendations included advice to wait for patch 1.08, where the developers promised to fix some problems with the leak. Today this patch was released, but it did not fix the problem. I noticed that all requests were closed. I am attaching the links:

I repeat, the problem did not go away with the patch. The game still works poorly, and the fps drops to 4-5 frames. All screenshots and tests are attached in the topics I mentioned.

Hi ReGen,

Thank you for bringing the VRAM leak issue with the Intel Arc B580 GPU in the "Broken Arrow" game to the community.

To help us diagnose the issue more effectively, could you please provide the following information:

Intel SSU Log: This log will give us detailed information about your system configuration and help us identify any potential issues. Please follow these instructions to generate and submit the SSU log:

  • Download the Intel System Support Utility (SSU) here.
  • Install and run the utility.
  • Click "Scan" to gather system information.
  • Once the scan is complete, click "Save" to export the results.
  • Attach the saved file in your response to this email.

Latest Graphics Driver Version: Please ensure you have the latest Intel Graphics Driver installed. You can download version 32.0.101.6913 (WHQL Certified) here.

Clean Install of the Driver: Have you tried performing a clean install of the graphics driver? This can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Instructions for a clean install can be found here.

Have you tried using the Intel Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove any remnants of previous drivers? You can find more information about DDU here.

Could you provide data from CapFrameX for at least 5 minutes of gameplay? This tool can help us analyze performance metrics. You can find instructions on how to use CapFrameX here.

When did the Issue start? Please let us know when the issue began, specifically in relation to the game. Was the game working normally before, or has this been a persistent problem?

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

The drivers are the latest, I did a clean installation. I am attaching the results of the requested checks. Video consumption increased from 6-7 gigabytes to almost all 12. It did not drop when leaving the match

Hi ReGen,

Thank you for your prompt response and for providing the results of the requested checks. I appreciate your efforts in ensuring the drivers are up to date and performing a clean installation. It's concerning to hear that video memory consumption has increased significantly and does not drop after leaving the match.

To assist further, could you please provide a screenshot of your game settings? This will help us understand the configuration and any potential factors contributing to the issue. Additionally, if possible, please share data specifically related to your system that shows the memory usage during gameplay. This information will be invaluable as I investigate this internally and work towards simulating the conditions you're experiencing.

Best regards,

Problem:
Start of 1st game (9.3 Gb):

 Mid game (11.5 Gb):

   End game (11.9 Gb):

   Launching next map (11.8 Gb):

Video memory was used up after 4 minutes of play (11.9 Gb, 8 fps):

Attaching all the screenshots in the archive below.
I wanted to note that in the first game I was relatively lucky, and the frame rate didn't drop to an unplayable level. But this doesn't happen in all games, and the video memory is clogged on average by the end of the match and fps drops. But in any case, it is clear that the video memory is completely full and the drops have already started in the first game

Hello! I'd like to add that I've had the same experience, I play one match and and my VRAM gets maxed out with performance dropping to single digit frames and the only remedy is to restart the game.

SSU is attached.

Hi, just to add in, I have the exact same issue happening, despite all my settings turned down to the lowest potato settings.

I can get one game going, but then if i go into a second game immediately after, I'll be hit with the memory leak issues. Sometimes it only happens towards the end of the game, dropping my framerate to around 20 FPS (which is still barely playable so i struggle on). Most times, it drops my FPS to 5-10, with the screen and the textures flickering green. My only remedy is to restart the game.

At this point, I am now making it my SOP to play a match, and then immediately restart the game to free up the VRAM. It's a little disappointing because otherwise I've been having a pretty enjoyable experience with my B580.

Hi ReGen,

I wanted to update you on the steps I've taken to address your concern.

I attempted to replicate the issue on my end but was unable to do so, as everything is functioning correctly with my setup. Given this, I recommend reaching out to the game developer, Slitherine, for further investigation and assistance. They will be best equipped to help you resolve any specific issues related to the game.

You can contact Slitherine through the following link: Slitherine Contact Page.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please feel free to reach out.

Best regards,

Could you please tell me what actions you took to simulate the problem? It's just quite widespread, considering that a decent number of issues have already been filed, both from Intel and from the game itself. Based on this, I'm sure that the problem should be reproduced one way or another

Hi Dean,

Are you trying to replicate this issue in Singleplayer or Multiplayer? My observation was that this issue doesn't seem to crop up in singleplayer, but shows up in Multiplayer.

The issue was also significantly more pronouced after updating to the most recent drivers, where I'd be experiencing the VRAM memleak in every multiplayer match I played, along with fluctuating framerates. Manually downgrading back to 6913 driver gave a more stable experience and got me back to 60 fps.
