What happened to the ARC B580?

Intel came out with a great graphics card with the ARC B580.  Good performance at a great price.

They should be flying off the shelves.   Except the shelves have been empty for 2 months.

With the exception of the way overpriced GUNNIR cards and scalpers, you can’t find a B580 anywhere.  Intel had a chance to sell a lot of graphics cards, but you can’t sell what you don’t have.

Does anyone know what happened to the ARC B580?

Hi Thomas40,

Thank you for posting in the Community!

It sounds like you've been having a tough time finding the Intel ARC B580 graphics card. I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, due to high demand, many retailers are currently out of stock.

I recommend checking with our distributor for possible stock updates. See the link for reference: Distributor Search: Select Your Region

Let me know if you have other questions and if I can close the inquiry.

Hi Thomas40,

Since you will be looking up onto our distributor partners, I will be closing this inquiry and will no longer be monitored.

The distributor partners have no information on B580 availability.

All dealers everywhere are out of all B580 cards - Intel, ASRock, Sparkle, Acer (except the way overpriced GUNNIR cards - plenty of stock because most people won't pay their prices).   It has been this way since the B580 release.

Since none of the B580 at normal prices are available, it would seem that the issue lies with Intel not getting producing enough parts to make cards with.   So can someone at Intel say if there is going to be a change in the stock situation, or should everyone just give up on the B580 cards as a paper launch and buy something else?

I wonder what "will no longer be monitored" means? I myself have been waiting for an ASRock B580 to be available. Only twice since the launch did I receive a notification from Newegg stating that they had stock, only to find out that someone(s) had beaten me to the purchase. If it weren't for the aesthetics of the B580 being incorporated into my build, I probably would have chosen another GPU by now. Ultimately, I may still end up choosing something else, although I would rather not.

It means that if you want support and attention, start a new thread.

I was able to buy an Intel ARC B580 card at my local Canada Computers store, and there are others in stock online and at other locations of this retailer. They are selling currently for $359.00 Canadian (on sale). I bought one without any real expectations of a decent product, but instead, the card performs above my expectations. In Fallout 76, a DX11 game that shouldn't run well on a B580 actually runs great, and at 4K, too. I'm using a Ryzen 7 9700X CPU running at 65w in an HTPC, and I have been very pleasantly surprised by the performance. It's running this notoriously unoptimized game shockingly well. In fact, I'm probably going to buy more of these cards for others I know with young teens because it represents such a bargain over AMD and nVidia cards.
